I am making a tag as well and it so shiny.. Cool. It can be layered too and love the effect if give when blended and layered. Very cool Very cool. Here is the layout. Enjoy!!

Diwali today Yay!!!!!

Today is our Diwali day. The festival of lights. Wish I was in India because it is such a big festival celebrated with a feast, plenty of sweets, new clothes, fireworks and of course a public holiday.
It is like any other day here especially one of our friend in hospital, the little celebrations we planned is cancelled.

I am planning to cook up something special this evening, light up few candles and wear new clothes. But still it is not the same as at home... sad.
Anyway, Happy Diwali to everybody (cheerfully smiling)
One more layout coming up tonight. Stay tuned

Oh, forgot, my friend has woken up and is conscious now. All his tubes will be removed by the end of the day. It is a miracle or should say rebirth for him because we lost him for more than 15 minutes on friday. Nice to hear he is awake, alert and recovering. Thanks for all the prayer girls.

Update..

There one good news regarding my friend at the hospital. He woke up early this morning upon command and was able to recognise his wife. Thats a very very good thing. His cognitive functioning is ok. But docs have sedated him to give him some rest. Hope his other body functions are also restored. A big sigh of relief for us.
Thanks for all those who included him in your prayers. I appreciate it very much.

Some sad news for me over the weekend.

I had some sad news over the weekend. One of our friend who was driving from a nearby town which was about 4 hours away, had a heart attack on the way. He drove for another 50 kms to reach a small town for medical help. By the time he reach the town, he was in a very serious condition that he was flown to Perth and is now on life support. It is very very sad because he came over to my house couple of weeks ago for tea. We all had a nice time and he was a great support when we moved into this town. His condition is still very very critical. We do not know what if going to happen to him. He has a wife and a 10 year old son and his mother here too. We need some serious prayers for him to wake up. So please pray for him.

All my plans to sit to scrap over the weekend is postpond at the moment. But I managed to make one layout. Here it is for you

A new sketch and a layout!!

You all know I am a big fan of sketches.

This time I got a very lovely one from http://roadmaps.aussiepubcalls.com.au. Very simple and flexible one. You would love to do too.. Give it a try.

I could not resist seeing this one. I sat to make it.

Took just one hour???????/ mmmmmm not really half an hour to dry the Kindy Glitz. So just half an hour.

I used bright colors, and some bling (kindy Glitz) on it as well. I like how it turned out.

Enjoy!!!!

More pictures of the passion fruit flower

Another LO I loved making.........

This is the last of the blinkie challenge in debscreations. This time there was sketch and few rules.

Rules are

1. Use at least 3 or more photos

2. Use 3 different PP or card stock

3. 2 or more word title with the word "NEW" in it.
4. 3 different embellishment

5. at least 2 line journaling

I love the Rosa Moka Pattern papers. So bright and funky. So I decided to use just one of them. Rest I am having them, not using them!!lol!!! I loooooooooooo them so much I want to keep them under my pillow when I sleep lol!!!!

Anyway, I am into this curling the paper as well. So I have curled the paper, hand drew the border. I also used felt under the green PP. But i also stitched the felt edges with yellow thread to give it a border and it will show up more. Embellies are simple just to give more focus on the photos and PP.

I used my DD's new hairdo pictures. She loves long hair and inspite of swimming and knots she is determined to keep it. So I gave her a new hairdo of curls and layering her hair. She is so proud of her hair. I love her hair too.

Let me stop bragging. So this is my layout. I am very happy with the layout.
Enjoy!

Passion... Fruit...Creeper

Well, there is a story behind the passionfruit creeper in my house.

When we moved in to the housecouple of years ago, the backyard was over grown with this creeper. We did not know what this creeper was. Thought it could be Wisteria!!The leaves resembled Wisteria.

The backyard was so dark and dirty with fallen leaves. We decided to chop it off. I chopped it till the lowest of the trunk. Left the root because I had no more strength to do anymore chopping. Hoping I will keep nipping off the new shoots and keep it at bay. What an idea! But this creeper started to sprout every other place, between my vegie garden. So annoying but I kept chopping them off. Not giving up easily. How dare you? I used to literally fight with the creeper!!

Anyway, during winter we decided to not to grow anything in the small patch. But this creeper is one adamant, persistant plant that it just sprouted again and grew very fast sucking all the compost I put into the soil. Grrrrrrrr! The leaves were so like wisteria that we read some information on Wisteria and decided to leave it to grow. Wisteria's flowers are so beautiful and fragrant.

But to our disappointment, the flowers were different. Although, it was very pretty and fragrant, it was not Wisteria. My DS took some pictures of the flower with his tiny point and shoot camera. I decided to put one of the photo up in my blog to see if any of you know what it is?

Fortunately after a few days, ChrisW in her comments said that it could be Passion Fruit. AND.... Yes, Is it passion fruit. What a Surprise? My DH loves passionfruit. I hate it! So we are keeping it for now to see if it will give some fruits.

So girls, this is the story behind the Passion Fruit Creeper at my home. Will load more photos of the flower and creeper tonight.
Enjoy the rest of the day.

Ta... Ta... Ta... Tags!!!

Yes!!! I made a couple of tags today. we have a Tag Swap Circle in our group at

debscreations.net.au. It is interesting to make tags because it is a small project and motivates to

try new techniques. I saw some videos of Tim Holtz's on you tube and wanted to try some of his

techniques. Although I do not have the mister, I used (again from my husband!) the iron spray

container. Wow!! to mix and blend colors and see the layers and textures it creates. Stunning

effects. I wish I had more of Tim Holtz's ranger ink pads and the applicator. Anyway, I mixed

two different colors and stamped and added a title and I am happy with the result. Here they are

with some closeups. Enjoy!!

Some of my DT layouts

Being the guest design team member for uproar2scrapmore.com.au I get to design a few layouts. I was eagerly waiting to see the kit. Wow!! when it arrived, I was thrilled because they were crate papers and some fantastic pastel shade card stock. I am a brights person. I normally do not choose pastel colors. So, to get some pastels and make layouts was a sweet challenge. I am able to use my kid's baby photos.

These layouts are simple and clean because I want the focus on the photo and journaling.
I am happy with how it has turned out. So pleasant to look at. Appropriate for baby layouts. Enjoy!!]

No: 1s in the family!!!!!!!!

This is interesting. I have two challenges to do at uproar2scrapmore. I combined them because one was a sketch and the other was Charmane's challenge for the First Birthday. Charmane's challenge rules are use "1" in the title, used chipboard altered for the layout and use rub ons(plural).

The sketch is.

Here is my take:

I loved doing this one as I made the envelope and the tags and also used pastel shades of blue and yellow which I have never used previously. We have 3 persons in our family who are No.1 born so I decided to scrap with that idea. But we are also the majority at home. So I sort stuck with this idea of using this song "we are one but we are many" in this layout. My journaling goes... "we are no.1s but we are many". I loved how this layout evolved from the sketch to using the challenge rules and then the song idea. Cool hun!!!

A good day today.

Well had a rough day yesterday. Wish I was more organized! Today is good. I have at least prioritized my to do list. Just have to follow it and tick it off.

My DD lost her top front tooth yesterday! She is cool about it. OMG! all the Iffff" and "ufff" coimg out of her mouth when she talk is sort of like that Ultra Tune ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is one more wobbly about to fall any minute. All the "ifffs and Ufffs" are going to get worse. Got to take a photo soon. These photos are to be treasured and scrapped of course. Yeah! Soon you will see it in one of my layout.

Shopping in Coles yesterday was so difficult because kids came with me!! Ended up having a headache. Off late, I am surviving with 2 paracetamols every other day. Headaches, migraines, tension................. I am soon going to have kidney trouble!!

I managed to get into the forums and chat and put up some info about myself as I was in the spotlight at uproar2scrapmore.com.au Few questions answered....................

Oh! BTW, I also won the September make your own embellishment RAK by Tracey for my "little precious one" layout. I am one of the winner. How cool is that?

I also prioritized how many layouts I got to make in total. Looks like I have about 10 left!!!!!!!!!!!! One per day I should be able to finish it. I think so if I keep up to it.

Will load couple of layouts tonight

I am frustrated and angry!!!!!

Why? Second day in a row I took my kids to school and the school has not yet started.

I am frustrated. I need to get back to work.

My DD was like "No, it is not fair. I want to go to school". Poor thing she has also had enough.

More than 2 weeks of school holidays and none of my work is done. I am lagging behind in everything! Vacswim took away 4 hours of my precious time in the afternoon. Atleast kids learned to swim. It is hard to keep them occupied all the time. They have had enough and I have had enough. Would like to know who sets the dates for school holidays! Would like to have a word with them.

I called my husband to babysit today and I am at work now. Peaceful and happy. Sometimes, you need that time off for yourself to do few things you enjoy!! People agree?
Anyway, work is light so far and so I am planning on few layouts.

Will update more later once I calm down..............

Some more christmas cards

Tip and the step by step.......................

We all have seen the kid's self adhesive foam shapes and alphas in shops. Some of us have them
at home too. I have them in plenty, sometimes all over my DD's room. These have lovely shapes
of flowers, animals, petals, and alphas which we normally do not have in our scrap booking
embellishments. Meaning the flowers are different in shape from the ones we use in scrap
booking. Anyway, we are going to use them as stamps. Yes!! now we have shapes and alphas
different from others. Best of all it that they are dirt cheap. You can make as many as you like.
Make one for each color!!! You can throw them if it get too dirty as foams will absorb color
and make another one without feeling guilty!!lol!!!

Let me tell and show you how?
Materials needed:

1. Self adhesive kid's foam alphas or shapes. I am using a bug shape x 2
2. Plastic transparent sheet- we get many of our everyday house hold items covered in thick transparent plastic box. Cut them and use them for this.

3. Card stock--- White preferably

4. Ink/arcyrlic paint

5. Sicssors-the small one

6. Black marker pen

Ok, here it goes.............

1. Peel the adhesive from one bug and stick over the other.

2. Remove the adhesive of the other and stick the thick layered bug on the plastic sheet. Cut the sheet into a square with the layered foam bugs in the centre

3. Now you have the stamp ready. Ink them as you do with regular stamps or use paint and stamp them on the card stock.

4. Cut them out and draw/decorate the bug as you like using black marker.

Ta da here you have an intant cheap stamp to use..

Hope you enjoyed this one. Please leave feedback in the comments section.

I am excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read through in stucksketches blog and found out that I am the September Australian Winner!!!!!!! OMG I just cannot believe it. I am excited and want to jump but having a little tummy upset. So not a good thing to do right now!!!!!!!
Hurray!! I won a sketch competition!! Oh! the layout is "Boys & Toys".Here it is for you to see.
I won it, I won it, Yay Yay Yay!! (singing like Dory in Finding Nemo)

Blinkie Challenge at Debs...................

We have this Blinkie Challenge at www.debscreations.net.au

Well, have to do 4 challenges which could be layouts or OTPs set by 4 DT members and then towards the end of the 4 challenges, we earn a blinkie. Sounds great hun!!! Best part is these DT members are fantastic challenge setters.

I liked this latest one set by Scrapwitch. Her name is Lisa.O. Her favourate is paint. I love paint as well. But I am a bit lazy to use paint often as they are messy.

The challenge says to use paint, one large photo which has to be edited using software, use staples some where and super distressing.Oh!! and use a song lyric for title!!! Anyway, I used Pink Paislee Office Lingo Collection-Cubicle PP as the base. I edited my DD's photo using software. I used antique and waterdrop effect on it and printed a large size photo.

Then, here comes the interesting part. I used pastry brush to draw doodles. How often has anybody done this weired thing on a layout? My husband was not happy with it because he is the baker at home. He does a lot of baking and now I pinched his pastry brush...lol!!! Will buy him another one. I promised him that.

For distressing, I used Tim Holtz's distressing ink-Brushed Corduroy on the alphas "U" and on the flowers and heart shape. Then sanded the alphas to give the same effect as the other alphas (which are readymade ones!). I looooooooooooooove Tim Holtz products. The grungeboard is a fantastic invention. The distress ink is fabulous. Wish I had his............ what is it called??????????? the applicator!!! Well, there is a name for it. Forgot...!!!!!!!!! I am using makeup sponge though, Hehehhe. I do not use makeup so the sponge for another purpose. Ooooo recycling Hey!!

Staples are on the ribbons on the tag. The song lyric I used is one of my DD's favourate artist at the moment-James Blunt. She loves his "You are beautiful, You are beautiful. Its true". So I used it as I felt it was perfect. She sings it too. Full with perfect lyrics.... I also love the felt flower I bought from Reject Shop and the Green Tara flower with the rhinestone. Very pretty.
I am happy with the result. Guss my mojo is back! I did not leave it in Perth, Elle. I must have left it here at home.Lol!!
Here is the layout and some close ups ... TFL
