A digi layout for A-Z scraplets

Good morning everybody,

How is your Sunday treating you? My Sunday is a cleaning day.
Just put my first load into the washing machine. Weather is not good. Muggy and drizzling.
So my house will be filled with the portable clothes line with clothes on it.
I do not like to use the dryer. It shrinks, sometimes stretches and ruins the clothes.
And I am a bit conscious of my contribution to the global warming.

Anyway, I have a few stuff to show you all.
To start with I have this digital layout made for A-Z scraplets sketch challenge #2.
They have it in the blog which you can find in the right hand side of my blog.
I have used papers and elements from various designers.
I like the drape in particular and the windows.Aren't they cute?

So if you have the time and are sketch lovers, just go to A-Z scraplets blog,
get the sketch, make a layout and email it to them.
All details are in their blog.
Have a go at it.
Awesome prizes.

Ok. got to go now.

Catch you soon with my take on Basic Grey Challenge Blog challenge.

Fun at the beach

Hey Everybody,

How is your weekend going? Mine is busy as usual so far. Still unable to find time to scrap during the daytime. I managed to scrap last night. But seems like my mojo has run away. Or after concentrating on digital scrapbooking, I found it hard to make a traditional one.

Again I have used a ledger pattern paper as the base and Kaiser craft papers for layers. Various embellishments like Kaiser craft pearls, tickets, tags, SEI diecut flower and 7 gypsies stickers. Pink Paislee alphas for title and words.
Photo was taken at Esperance beach in WA.

Storm? What storm?

It was such a fuss yesterday as it got windy and people rushing to get home quick, picking up kids from school. I too picked them up early and went home, secured all loose items and then waited for the storm........

Waited................

and waited...........

and waited...............

What storm? There was none.
It got really really hot, went upto 40 degrees but no storm at all.Crazy weather!!
The weather department said pokies lol!!!!
I had some 3 emails about the storm yesterday at work but nothing happened.

Cha!!, I thought it happens only in India and the meterology is pretty good here.
Weather is unpredictable I guess!!

Today it looks like it will storm.
Heavy storm clouds, humid and hot.
I am going to enjoy the rain and hail and all.If at all it happens.
I am sure it is happening somewhere closeby but not in the town. Cha...

I managed to make my ATCs for the swap at Debscreations

and here it is.

I loved the bright pink background. Paper from Pink Paislee. Stamp from Bizzy Becs. I have used Distress inks to color the image and mounted it on double sided foam. Diva made out of Dymo.

If you are interested, you could join for the next round, starting march 15th.

OK got to cook dinner. Until next time....

Severe thunderstorm warning

There is a severe thunderstorm warning with flash floods, large hail and severe winds. We are all asked to go home and secure loose items and disconnect all electrical items. I haven't been in such a situation before. I am feeling a bit child like and Yay! some hail I can collect some more put it in the freezer. On the other hand, got to pick up the kids from school early and get inside the house soon before everything happens. I have a bird with me too. OMG! she will freak out with the thunder and lightening...........

Well, I am still sitting here waiting for the wind to pick up, so I can go and get the kids from school.A bit anxious. I don't want the car to get damaged as well! It is not too bad outside. I can see it a bit windy, clouds at a distance. I am anxious.I am I am...I hate thunder and lightening. I freak out too.

Should I go now or wait? Thats the question always, isn't it? I am not sure if its going to storm sooner or later. Unpredictable weather.

Better be safe than sorry. I am going now. See you all later this evening. Will let you know more about the storm. Hehehe!

Moments like this matters

Remember last week I had a visit to my LSS and I said I picked up some ledger papers.
Yes, this Lime green paper is one of them. Just loved how vibrant the paper was.
I wanted to make a traditional layout, after some digi layouts.
So I decided to use this paper to make a quick layout.
I also wanted the vibrant color to show. Therefore opted for a minimalist approach.
Photo is one of Siddarth rare good one.
He always makes faces when he is photographed.
So moments like these where he has a natural smile, matters a lot to me.
Actually, I only have a few such good photos of him.
As I said my weekend is very busy. It has been today.
My eyelids are heavy and closing.
I need to get some sleep.
Thanks for stopping by.
Goodnight!

Some rambling and a layout...

Hey everybody,

Its friday already. Weekend is fast approaching. What have you all planned?
I have a long list fo things to do. My weekend does not look like time to relax.
Apart from cleaning the house, washings and others, I have to take kids for music class, then theory lessons for music, the stamp club.
I then have a friend of Siddarth come for play. Leave Aditi to her friend's house for play,so on... Looks like I will be spending most of my time in the car going from one place to another.
Oh!! no!! I hate doing that. Do I have a choice? NO!!!!
So, no point even thinking about cribing...
I wish I can spend some time relaxed and scrapping.
There got be someway of doing that.
Will sit an get organized.

I have one more layout to show you.
Yes, Digi again to show you.
Here it is.

I seriously want to make layouts using my new Basic Grey purchases.
I got my new stash last week and I still can't find time to scrap them.

I have something else to show you too.

Chris W sent me this. So sweet of her.
Gorgeous stuff. Love them to bits, Chris.
Many thanks.

Ok thats it for today.
Got to go shopping to my local store which sells awesome shabby chic items.
I have to buy couple of gifts for my friends.

Catch you all later.

Lexie's challenge...

Lexie's challenge at Debscreations is very different this time.
Its the size.
She has challenged us to make a 6 X 12 size layout.
That is the only criteria.
It is much smaller than I thought it would be when I started making it.
Well, I am infected with the digital bug currently. So gone digital again.
Freebies from Blue designs and Shabby Princess.
I love the warm colors and the rustic elements.
Enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I am at the moment doing another DT layout which I cannot show you now.
So busy with it.
But will be back soon with more layouts and cards to show.

Have a great evening

Until next time

More digi layout......

How are you guy today? Not a good day for me.
A bit sleepy since morning. Tired too.
But I did manage to do all household chores, taking kids to swimming lessons
and had a cat nap for about 15 minutes in the evening and I am better.
I generally stay up late on weekends watching TV and end up sleep deprived on Monday!!
Anyway, whats for dinner today? I have made some nice pulav
(vegetable fried rice Indian style) and want to eat now!!
Then fold clothes and vaccum the house and organise for tomorrow's work.

Before I leave here are a couple of digi layouts I made with some freebies from Shabby Princess.

Enjoy

Until next time...

Aussie roadmaps sketch and layout

This is Aussie roadmaps's Feb sketch.
Love the gorgeous multiphoto sketch.
And below is my take on the sketch. Yes!, I have done a digi layout.
They are again freebies from the internet. OMG! there are so many freebies available.
Thanks a lot for those freebies ladies.
I am still organising all my downloads so please bear with me.
I will soon start to acknowledge the respective kits.

What I like about digi is no printing photos, no cleaning up and all the elements could be reused over and over again. My DH likes digi because no paper involved. Very conscious of global warming. I agree with him. But I still like traditional scrapbooking.Mmm!!!... Maybe compromise, half and half Lol!!!

Weekend was good. Was able to make a DT layout and step by step for the same.

Sorry, can't show it yet. Next month this time for sure..lol!!!

I am planning on some RAKs on my sketch blog.

Watch out for the post next week in my sketch blog.

Ok, more later. Have a great day

Hugs

My first digital layout Yay!!!

Yay!! I made my first ever digital layout using some freebies available on the internet.

Wow!........, it took a while for me to overcome the initial fear of using the photo shop.
And now I am loving it.
Maybe I will now do half digi and half traditional layouts.
I still love the traditional way of scrapbooking.
So I will not give that up totally.
Moreover I am still a beginner at digi.
Will take a lot of practice I guess!!!.

I have used SP's Harvest Spice kit to make this layout.

Thanks for stopping by today.

A bright funky boy's layout.............

Debscreations has monthly challenges set by 3 challenge chics. No prizes but really awesome challenge to try out. Winners will be picked by the challenge setter. Sometimes there is a RAK.

Here are the details of Vix's challenge:

Your LO and title must be based around a movie title!
You must
* use only one photo
* use at least 3 different pp
* use as much cardstock as you want
* use no more than 3 embellies!

Here is my take on the challenge.

My title is based on the Movie "pirates of the great salt lakes"
Photo is Sid exploring the salt in a salt lake near our town.
We in fact did bring home some salt.
It was awesome to see salt in so much quantities and also amazing to see plant life growing in the lake in spite of the salinity!!
The base is a cardstock by GCD studios designer card stock. I picked it from my LSS.
Loved the ink blue with a self designed grid.
Other papers I used was from Collage press Jackson Lodge collection--journaling card PP and other one, I think is from Prima Youth collection.
The three embellishment I have used are Kaiser craft star bling, Chipboard stars covered with Green card stock and kaiser craft rub ons. Alphas from Pink Paislee.
White dots by Kindy Glitz's white.

I love a little funky layout ones a while. Brightens up my day!
Hope you are having a lovely day.
Its HOT here. My DD is down with fever and bad cold.
Poor thing, she talks more when she is down with fever. Delirious!! sometimes!!
Bound indoors until evening. So chances of making another layout are high!!lol!!

Checkout my sketches blog some inspiration.
Have a great weekend.

A Pretty Pink layout!!!!

Hi Everybody,

Today is Friday and my day off but I was still engrossed in household chores!!!
Time just flew by and before I knew it was evening!!!
But I finally had the chance to visit my LSS.
She had some awesome The Little Yellow Bicycle papers.
They were pink valentine's paper line but it was a lovely pink.
Not baby pink, not flashy pink but a dusky pink.
I was smitten by the color and one particular paper was embossed. I dare not take it!!!
She also had some making Memories die cut papers. Picked up a few papers from her.
Some new stash is always inspiring.
At the same time all my photo from Snapfish arrived. Oo la la!! I sat down to make a layout.
The pink dotted paper is the nice velvety embossed paper. So nice to feel it.
Here is the result.

Papers used are from making Memories diecut paper from Love letter line,
The Little Yellow Bicycle embossed paper and 7 Gypsies.
Flowers are from Prima, Black bling flourishes are from Prima too.
Ribbon from American Craft, Cork Tag from Kmart.
Stamped image is from Bizzy Becs Stamps - Hippy Girl 'Jewels'.
Tim Holtz's distress inks and title diecut from my stash.

Here are some closeups:

I actually get the feeling my layout resembles everyother layout if I use papers and embellishments from a single line. So I was thrilled but work and other commitments kept me busy until last night.
Here is my take on the challenge. I have used Basic Grey Granola, Recess and Stella Ruby papers in this card. Alphas from Pink Paislee.

Here it is .......

As promised in the past post, here is the layout I made for the Master Blaster challenge at Debscreations. It is s poppet challenge. Here are the details

To create a Layout using 1 or more Poppets to tell a story!!!

You must have Journaling on the Layout through the use of a Journaling Tag- giving a few details of your story- this could be a trip to the zoo, a wedding, a special gift etc!

You can use any Cardstock & or Patterned Papers you wish but your LO must contain some form of bright colours!.

At least 20% of the Layout must have 3D elements on it!

You can use any Embellies you wish, but you must include a pin & 1 paper clip!

At Least 1 of the Poppets Faces must be yours- no exceptions!

I was intrigued in the beginning. Sort of postponed it for a week pondering what to do.
But yesterday I had a whole day to me and I came up with this idea of doing what goes on in my mind everyday when I go to work!! Lol!!
Initially I wanted to do just the house but I got so engrossed in making the house then the trees, then the sun and suddenly I thought let me use my brayer to make the sky.
When I finished that, I wanted something different for the grass, so I came up with heat embossing for the grass to add a texture as the grass would have.
Then I raided my daughter's toys and found this dress of her polly pocket and nicked it.
Shhh!!!! don't tell her....
I use the top only and hand drew the hands and used the legs only of the Magnolia Tilda stamp and .... I just was into it the whole day that I did not realise that I missed lunch.
OH!! it was so much fun making it. Never forget it.
Felt like my inner child just came through cutting, inking, gluing...lol!!!
This layout will be my favorite. Love the outcome.

I just received more stamps I purchased. Can't wait to use it.
Will show you tomorrow a card I am going to make with it for Basic Grey challenge.

Have a great day

Hugs
