February PTI Blog Hop

Hi everybody,

Its PTI blog hop today and this month's theme is

This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops!  We want to see your best use of scallops,
of any sort, on a project!  This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,
scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up!
You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look.  We
are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!

Here is my take on the theme.

I used banner dies to make the scallops on this card. Love the deep offset scallops and that white border. Gives the card a gorgeous dressed feel to it! Happy with how it turned out. Hope you like it too :)

Now off to hop and see other scallop project. Happy hopping!

Luv!

Time flies!!!

I really wonder!!! Its Friday already? Gosh! I am worried actually. Looks like before I know I will be old and wrinkly!  Tomorrow for example, we have music lessons at 9 to 11 in the morning,  cook and eat lunch and go for a birthday party in the afternoon and then to teacher's committment mass in evening because Aditi sings in the choir. By the time I am back home it will be 8 at night. I will be exhausted and so will the kids. Sunday, is cleaning day! Not very good. I have to slow down somehow but with 2 kids and a busy husband, its not that easy. I will have to try hard, don't I?
Anyway, what I want to say is that I made a lot of cards, two for challenges, one for DT and one just out of interest on last Sunday. I just did not have the time to share them the entire week. But now is the time to do that. Here they are:

This card I made just like that one day. I want to try out bird cage background and loved it. Hence made a card.  Isn't the cage background beautiful with all those tiny heart shapes :) I love it.

This one  I made for the recent JAI sketch but did not have to time to post it and enter the challenge.

This one is for Sasya sketch #51. Here is a link to the sketch if you want to play. Deadline is Tuesday next week.

This one I made for Embellished Publication call for ribbons. But I was not confident to sent it. So here is the card for you. Love these doily dies from Maya Road.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you like my cards.
Tomorrow I have a card to share for PTI blog hop. So please come back :)

My craft space!

Hello everybody,

I don't know about you but my Sunday and Monday flew very quickly. After Sunday afternoon lunch, life just took over and in a blink of an eye, its Monday evening. Hopefully everything will slow down now. I took some pictures of my craft space and a few cards and was able to edit them just now.
Unfortunately, I could not take pictures of my Sunday lunch and the dessert (which I had promised to show in the past post) because it was all gone by the time I could bring my camera!!! lol! Kids were hungry after they came back from swimming and within minutes all food were gone.
But I have a picture of my craft space. I don't have a room to myself as its a large study and my DD, my DH and myself share the room. My husband has his office, I have my craft space and my daughter has her piano in there. So here is a picture of my side of the room

Its a bit messy at the moment. Most things are within reachable distance. I bought these IKEA ALEX drawers recently. They are great and fits all my stamps, punches, embossing powders, adhesives...... There is so much space in those drawers. Love it! Next IKEA purchase will be the desk with ALEX drawers.lol!
Can you see my frame high up on the wall? Yes, thats the one I showed on my previous post. I have to make another similar one and hang it below this one. So its work in progress :) I used to have a display canvas up there on which I displayed my cards but I wanted a change. So I took it down and put up the frame instead.

I also have a cupboard on the righthand side which has more stash in it. So thats pretty much my craft space. I don't have much as I sold a lot recently. I used to be a scrapbooker before I converted to cardmaker. So I had a lot of pattern papers and embellishments. I used to get lost in the huge pile of stash but I am more in control with what I have.  Anyway, this is my first post on my craft space. Hopefully in a few months time, when my new house is built, I can have a craft space which I intend to make it organised and coordinated :)

Thanks for reading and have a great day :)

Comfort and Cozy

Today I have another frame I made for my craft room. This one is similar to the previous one I made here, only the colors and elements are different. I used Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge- Comfort and Cozy challenge to make this one. Here is the link to the challenge and the inspirational picture for you.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I love the colors on the picture straight away and also that it is a comfy home. So I wanted to make a home decor using the colors.  I have used rolled felt flowers as an element on the frame to give the cozy feeling. Sentiments like "Live Your Dream" and "Love" are associated with being comfortable and cozy (atleast in my opinion lol!). I also punched out squares from different pattern papers from my scraps and used them to coordinate the colors from the inspirational picture.
Here is the close up all the elements on the frame :)

Thanks for the inspirational photo and challenge. Had loads of fun making this.
This morning my daughter and myself had fun making pavlova. I am making it for the first time and it turned out lovely. I am also going to make Naan and Punjabi channa masala for lunch. Actually, teaching my friend's teen daughter to make it. She is a big fan of Indian food and wants to learn how to make Naan and Channa Masala. So watch out for a second post today with yummy picture of food :)

Have a great day!

Second card for MIM

I have a second card to share for PTI's Make It Monday - Vellum Strip Challenge.

I love the larger vellum strip on the bottom which softens the card and I can add more sentiments on it too. I also love this color combination. I got the idea from TV!!! Believe it or not, one afternoon with all the Oprah and Soap Operas running at the background, my eyes caught the dirty blue shirt with green tie and dark brown blazer men wore on these shows. They looked lovely on them. Noted down the color and made use of it on this card :) I added pink color to draw focus on the centre panel of the card.
Had lots of fun doing this card. Can't wait to see whats on his Monday!

Have a great day!

Sasya Sketch #50

Morning eveybody,
Its a really lovely day today. Been raining for past 2 days and all is wet and green outside. I love the wet roads, wet green lawns, cloudy and will rain any time yet warm and life slows down dramatically :) Although I don't like the humidity, its a whole lot better weather than the hot sunny 45 degree celcius days. Anyway, I have my card I made for Sasya Sketches #50

Here is the link to Sasya Sketch #50 if you want to play the challenge. There is a bonus sketch as well and the prize of course. All the best. Can't wait to see what you come up :)

Case Study Challenge #26

I am organising my craft area this week and I want a nice frame to keep on top my IKEA Alex drawer. So I used Case Study challenge muse to make one. Here is my frame.

Isn't it gorgeous? I love the big sentiment, "WISH BIG" Great sentiment to see every day in the craft room. Love the shimmery, glittery black dress form and the green organza ribbon. I love where it sits right now. Could not take a photo as the day is overcast and light is very poor. But will take a photo once the weather improves :)

BTW: I have SU's pennant die for sale for $60.00 including shipping inside Australia. Email me if you are interested :)

Thanks for muse  and I am loving the challenge :)
Have a great day!

Here is my take on the challenge.

Make it Monday - Go to Sentiment

With all the festivities and contest going on with PTI's 4th Anniversary,PTI has come up with a innovative way to select their guest stamper position. Its called Make It Monday challenge series. I will just copy and paste what Nicole has posted on her blog about the challenge series.

Every Monday there will be a technique video posted to our YouTube channel by a Papertrey Team Member or myself, showcasing a nice balance of basics and new innovations to cater to everyone's skill levels. The contest will be hosted in two places, through Facebook and my blog.  This will allow people to post a link to a project they create using that weeks technique easily, depending on the type of "social media" they prefer.
(You can find us on Facebook HERE.)
We will then proceed to "tweet" a project of special mention every night, something we are calling "Inspiration Hour".
(You can begin following us on Twitter with our username, @Papertreyink1 or CLICK HERE.)
We will also have a special "Inspiration Hour" forum where people can stop by to chat with one another during that designated time, perhaps even virtually stamp together. At the end of the week (on the following Monday) a grand prize winner will be selected from the "Inspiration Hour" tweeted projects that were highlighted throughout the week.  The grand prize will be a FREE Papertrey stamp set of the winner's choice!

PTI Tag Contest - Lisa Johnson

I love this tag as its perfect for the upcoming valentine's day. So here it what I came up with.

Just to balance, I made and added a sentiment tag on the other side.
Another two to go. I had a friend over this afternoon and so I could not make any more this afternoon. Now there is a new challenge up!!! I love this one because as I was organising my stamps yesterday, I realised I had so many of Birthdays, Thank Yous, Congrats, Happy Anniversarys..... I so wanted to use the same senitment but different fonts on a card. Looks like Erin has read my mind! Spooky!!!! huh! lol! I am now interested in making a card for this contest :)
So thanks for stopping by! Please come back tomorrow for more :)

Luv!

PTI Tag Contest - Ali Miles

This one is very simple. I just colored the flower (Not very good, black printer ink has bled into the color :( )
I have used the tag as an embellishment to finish off the pillow box.

But I like how a simple colored flower tag completes a project :)

PTI Tag Contest - Melissa Bickford

Card #4 for now. My daughter and myself made this card. The coloring is done by my daughter Aditi. She also picked the colors and pattern paper for the card. And together we created it :) Very nice way to spend some nice quality time with my daughter :)

Bright and Cheerful!!! That pattern paper goes so well with the rainbow on the tag. Aditi loved it :) Me too!
Thats it for now! I have more coming soon. I have some household chores to finish. I will see you back in about 2 hours. Until then, have a nice day :)

PTI Tag Contest - Beth Silaika

Card #3 using Beth's beautiful wording tag :)

I love the colors on this card. I think the papers are from Pink Paislee which I have been having for a very long time. Anyway, I wanted the focus on the wonderful wording so kept it simple :)

My favourite PTI project!!!

PTI has a contest for its Anniversary month. Its their 4th annniversary and they are celebrating it with giveaways and contests. The first contest is to showcase our favourite PTI project made so far. DT team have also showcased their favourite project on their blog. Click here to see the details.

It was hard to choose but here is mine. I made these in April 2010. I loved the New Leaf and Hawaiian Shores combination and all the lovely flowers colored using copics. I had just discovered copics and braved myself to color using them :)

I have used PTI Hawaiian Shore and New Leaf cardstocks along with PTI "Green Boutique" pattern paper but different flower sets. They are PTI "Daffodils" and PTI "In Bloom" flowers stamp set. I used copic markers Sweet Blush trio to color the flowers and hand cut them and the simiarly the leaves. I want to buy all the trio from PTI. They are fabulous for beginners like me! I have used PTI's Giga Guidelines texture plate to add texture to the tags as well. Sentiments are from PTI "Delightful Dahila" stamp set. Loooove these colors together. They are gorgeous. Hope you like them!

I love them so much that I have not given them to anybody nor used it at all :) They are MINE!!! Hehehe!

Have a great weekend!
Hugs
