Turquoise with Kraft and White

This week's CAS challenge at Splitcoast stampers is a color challenge- Turquoise with Kraft and White. It is a soft and delicate color combination.  Also Heather Nicholes has demonstrated a technique on her blog using craft ink and impression plates. Here is the link-- Click here. I so wanted to try that technique and use CAS color combiantion to make a card. This is what I came up with!

Father's day is around the corner. So I ended up making a father's day card for my son to give my husband!
I like how it turned out. Did you see the alphebet impression the Hawaiian Shores cardstock? Thats the technique Heather showed on her blog. I also tried the technique on black cardstock. It gives a chalk board effect. Absolutely fabulous. I will use the black cardstock and make another father's day card. Will share it with you tomorrow!

Cardstock PTI's Kraft, Hawaiian Shores and Stamper's Select White cardstocks
Stamp  Sets:
Father Knows Best, Its Official,

PTI Blog Hop

Morning everybody,
This is a schedule post as I will be still sleeping or just about getting out of bed at this time. Yesterday was one exhausting day after my daughter had a surgery. Nothing major. Still its was a nervous time in there. She had  mucoseles removed from her mouth. But all is well! Aditi is at home, talking and eating but tired and exhausted! Anyway, why I said all this is because, I did not have time to think about today's blog hop project. So my project this month is simple.

This month's blog hop is:

In honor of school going back into session everywhere, we thought it would be fun to issue a Brown Bag
Challenge.  We want to see what you can do to dress up, alter, change an ordinary brown lunch bag into
a paper crafting work of art.  You could modify it to become a gift bag with handles, create a card base
by folding it in half (complete with a slide out tag), add a window to it or whatever else you can dream up.
After the hop is though, we should all have plenty of inspiration to help us create amazing projects with
inexpensive brown bags!  We look forward to seeing your creations!

Here are my projects:

"Brown paper packages tied up with strings......These are a few of my favourite things..." lol!
These are  typically my children's lunch bags which I have modified as gift bags for cupcakes and  craft supplies. I love brown paper bags. They are kind of cute when dressed up. Not hip but just right!
Sorry about the photos, I made them last night at 10.00PM and lighting is not very good. If sun is out tomorrow, I will try and take photos under sunlight and replace these.
Edited: I have since replaced the photos with ones taken under sunlight.
Now off  to hop and see what eveybody has done with brown bags.
Have a great day and happy hopping!
Cheers!

Weekend crafts.....

My DD Aditi's wanted to make a birthday card to her class teacher. Although her teacher's birthday was yesterday (Sunday!) She only knew about it on Friday. So we had lovely mother-daughter time together and made a card. Aditi choose the colors and the stamp sets. She wanted sparkles on the card and a gift too. Here is the card we made together.

There is the metal PTI bookmark with the felt flowers that comes out from the pouch for the teacher. I forgot to take a photo of it separately. She is all proud today taking the card to the teacher. Will wait this evening for her to tell me all about it lol!
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI's Cream, SU's Taken with Teal, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss
Stamp sets: Its Official and Just the Ticket from PTI
Inkpads: Stazon Black Ink and Kiwi Kiss!
Accessories: SU's scallot envelope dies, PTI's Beautiful Bloom, Bookmark Topper and Just the Ticket Border dies II, PTI's Hawaiian Shores and Simply Charteuse, SU's brads, Dazzling diamonds, PTI's Bookprint Impression plate, sponge and gel pen.

I also have made some changes to the invitations from the previous post after receiving feedback from many of you here, emails and in the forum. Thanks you so much. I have not modified too much but a little. It did make a whole lot difference. Here are the modified versions.

Hope my client likes one of the two. Fingers crossed!

Wedding invitations!

Here are a couple of invitation samples I have made for an order. The client wants a simple invitation as its a casual wedding ceremony on a beach. And want the actually (lol! I did not edit did I?)  invitation inside to be loose with a magnet behind so the recipent can put it up on the fridge. And colors she wants are purple or pink with silver/pearlised white. With those in mind, I made these two. I need to make 100 of them is she chooses one from these two.
Also the client is going to print the invite from the computer and paste it on the card herself. Thats why its left blank. I like some stamped images on the corners of the invitation but since she is going to do the invite, I am limited in that aspect. I like both but feels like its not complete. You know what I mean?  I want your opinion on what more should I do? Please leave your ideas on the comment section.
Thanks in advance...

PDCC # 43

Morning everybody,
Berry nice Sunday morning. Sun is shining and not very hot either. Just watching "Total Drama Action" on ABC3 channel. Its a spook about the reality shows on TV. Previously there was "Total Drama Island" a spook on "Survivor". Total fun.. Although its kids animated program, its is so funny and we as a family enjoy it. Watch it if you get a chance :)
Anyway, I had a chance to make a card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #43. Here is the inspirational photo and color of this week's challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Again, I have used the same sketch as the card on my previous post. Thats because I am using the bits and pieces from my tray. Its so easy to make. Just collect the colors of cardstock and pattern paper you want. Cut them to sizes, add texture, layer them, add embellishments & sentiment and ta da you are done 10 minutes! The only thing that delayed completing the card was the crystal effects on the heart shapes.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI's Stamper's Select White and Hawaiian Shores, SU's Gable Green.
DSP: PTI's Green Boutique and Green Tea Leaves
Stampset:PTI's Lily of the Month and Tin Types
Inkpads:Stazon Black ink and SU's Gable Green and PTI's Hawaiian Shores
Accessories: SU's embossing folder,PTI'sHawaiian Shores ribbon, EK Success donut punch, SU's Heart shape punches, Kaisercraft rhinestones, crystal effects and white gel pen.

Thanks for another amazing color challenge. I like doing these challenges. I have got couple of wedding invitation samples I made for an order. Will share with you later today for your opinion.
Have a great weekend!
Cheers!

Brisbane trip (lots of photos)

Hi everybody,

I am back from my Brisbane trip. It was a nice break from the routine and we had lots of fun. While my hubby was attending a conference, myself and my kids went shopping and later went to South Bank. Brisbane is such a lively place. We then drove to Gold Coast (an hour drive from Brisbane) to see our friend and visited Surfer's Paradise and  the Movie World for the kids. We drove to the mountains too. 3 days of actual fun and 2 days of flying, which was boring with many hours of transit and crappy food.
Here are some photos from the trip.

Waiting in the lounge for the next flight!
Drove down in a Mercedes Benz. What an awesome car! Pure Luxury!

A beautiful church in the middle of Brisbane CBD! This is the view from the hotel we stayed in.

At the Movie World!

With Batman in movie world! My kids did not want to take any photos with any characters! I was shocked. All they wanted to do was go on rides and eat. Guess, they are a bit old for pictures with characters.

Aditi was upset because she was not allowed to go on the roller coaster. She was about 10cms smaller. Poor girl, she was so down after that.

Siddarth at the Harry Potter shop. Both my kids love Harry Potter. We definitely want to visit Harry Potter theme park at Florida next.

Face painting cheered Aditi finally!

Yay! Murali with Austin Powers lol!
A rickshaw ride at South bank.

Inside the room. Siddarth took this photo of us. So he is missing in it!

Back from the trip into the normal routine now.Lots of house chores to do.No time to sit and craft and no mojo at the moment. Hoping I will make a start tomorrow and will have something to share. Until then...
Cheers!
