Celebrating Hobbies Challenge.

Well, my new hobby is learning to take better photos. Been fascinated by the manual mode on my SLR camera for a while now and trying out different apertures, macro mode, sport mode and so on....

I still remember the camera my Dad had! Massive heavy black thing with the flim in it. He used to make us stand for a long time to take photos. When developed, the pictures would be in black and white. Love black and white photos and how my dad had them in albums which used to be kept safely inside the steel cupboard locked. lol! Dad would take it out on weekends or when we had guests to show them and pass them around and chat over coffee and snacks. Love those memories :) My dad is in China on work. I want to call and talk to him :)

That camera was my dad's pride and joy.  So I made this card as a tribute to my dad's old camera.

I opted for a vintage card. The camera tag is from 7 gypsies, the pattern paper is from Kaisercraft which I distress and stamped using PTI's text stamp. The diecut behind the tag and the flim strip are from Kaisercraft too. The sentiment stamp is also from Papertrey Ink. Cardstock is from SU.

I enjoyed making this card because it brought back my childhood memories :)
Thanks for the challenge. If you like to play along then click here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Luv!

  1. Beautiful card. I love the way you only covered part of the background with the stamps. It really helps to add to the vintage look.

  4. Shivers! Gayatri! This is unbelievably gorgeous! Seriously. How do you continually come up with such crafting gold? I'm not half jealous. ;-) The colours are so rich and that all the elements are so vintage-a-licious! Totally kick butt!
