Warm Winter Wishes - A distressed Christmas card

Hello folks,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card for Virginia's View Challenge #10  - All Things Distressed.

I love distressing technique but I rarely use the technique except if you consider  using distress markers on my cards lol! It is not my style but I have given the technique a go :)

Here is my card for the challenge.

Warm Winter Wishes1

I have used kraft cardstock as my base and for the panel. The stamp set I have used on my card is called Gleeful from Penny Black.

I stamped the row of houses, the girl with the dog on the sledge and the kids with dog on the sledge image on the kraft panel and white heat embossed the images. I love colouring on kraft cardstock. So I went ahead and coloured the images using distress markers. I also added some distress markers to ground the images. I stamped and heat embossed the image at three levels to give some depth.

I then trimmed the panel, sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink, distressed the edges of the panel using scissors. Then used white gel pen to draw faux stitching detail. On the card base, I sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink and then drew border lines using white gel pen. I then curled the edges on the panel and adhered on the card front using foam adhesives. The sentiment is from Whooo's Wishes stamp set also from Penny Black which I have white heat embossed on the kraft cardstock, trimmed and cut the fish tail banner, sponged the edges with frayed Burlap distress ink before adhering to the card using foam adhesives. I added Wink of Stella on a few images.

I am so happy with how this card turned out. The colours just pop out with the white embossing. This is one of my favourite Christmas cards this season :)

Thanks for stopping by!
