Little Princess

Good Morning everybody,

After two days of out of town, back home now.
Anyway, I want to share this card I made for my niece's birthday

Birthday card

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White, Aqua Mist from PTI.
Stamps: Happy Birthday Inside Out and daily designs Sentiment from PTI
Inks: Hero Arts Butter Cup and Stazon Black Ink
Accessories: Stripes embossing folder, cuttlebug, brayer, feather dress sticker
I used brayer and applied Butter Cup yellow ink on the embossing folder and ran the cardstock through it to get the white and yellow stripes. This is such a cool technique. I will need to try out different embossing folders too.
This card is going into the mail today. Hoping my niece likes it.  I love it :)

Ohh! I am entering this card for Moxie Fab The Fascination with Feather Challenge.

If you have time this weekend, would like to play along this fun "Inspired By Pinterest" challenge?
check it out?  Would love to see how you interpret the picture :)

Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

Inspired by Pinterest

Hello Everybody,

Its another Inspired By Pinterest fun challenge time :)
Here is this week's inspirational picture

I love the layout of this invitation. So I took the layout and the colours are my inspiration and made my card.

I also wanted a modern version although the inspirational picture is classy and elegant. So used PTI's Dot Spots Stamp set to make my card instead of doilies.
Now it is your turn. If you are inspired by the invitation and have some time to make a project, then why not blog it or post it in a gallery and link it here? I would love to see your take on it.

I would like to thank all of them who participated in last week's challenge. Your cards are gorgeous. What I have done is I have pinned the inspirational picture and all the entries including mine into my Pinterest board called Inspirational challenge. So you can go back and see the picture and projects for more inspirations later on.

Can't wait to see your project :)

THG and a card

Ok, I watched The Hunger Games over the weekend. My son Sid wanted to go for it because he had read all the three books. He loved the books and all his friends were going to watch it too. So I dragged along my daughter Aditi and her friend to the movie. I haven't read the books at this stage nor I know anything about it. Didn't have time to even watch or read the reviews. So I sat there and watched the movie. I was on the edge of the chair towards the end of the movie. Gosh! the subject matter of the movie is awful. I cannot imagine selecting 24 people to fight it out between themselves and the rest watching it as TV show. But the characters are awesome. Jennifer Lawrance is gorgeous and her acting is excellent. Oh! I just could not bear to see people dressed in neon colours and awful make up Yuk! I enjoyed the movie.
So when I came home, I started reading the book. Thats when I discovered the book is amazing. Finding it hard to put the book down. Still don't like the subject matter but it is written very well. The movie is not exactly the book but in my opinion a summary of the book I think. I don't not mind watching movies like this to Twilight.

So now for the card. I wanted a thank you card to send to a lovely friend who helped me ship some stamps.Today was a busy day and I didn't have much time before I drove to the post office. I pulled out PTI Pretty Peonies stamp set and made this card.

Thank You card

Supplies:
Cardstocks: Stampers Select White from PTI
Stamp sets: Pretty Peonies and Inside Out Thank You
Inks: Bashful Blue from SU, Pool & Green Hills Mid Tone Shadow Ink from Hero Arts, Sage from Amuse Inks  and Stazon Black Ink

I am submitting this card for Lily Pad Blog's Flower Challenge.

Thanks for visiting and all your wishes on my previous post.

Good Night from Australia

Gilded Lily Award

I am going to brag today because I am given the rights to unlimited bragging (giggle). I saw a few comments congratulating me on my win at Lily Pads Blog. So I went over to the blog and scrolled down. I saw my card and I don't know what came upon me that I closed the page. I think I didn't expect it as a winner and also it has been sometime since I made this card. After a few minutes, I went back to the blog and re read it again. I am honoured and humbled that this card of mine is picked as a winner :)
Thank you so much.

Thank You card

I also get a $25 gift certificate fro Purple Onions Designs. This will be my first buy from them. I have seen a few fantastic projects made using their stamps. Very excited. Cannot wait to choose some of their stamps :)

I did promise to blog about my opinion on The Hunger Games Movie today. It has been a busy and long day. I am hoping after dinner I will get sometime with my laptop to blog. So hopefully another blog post coming soon :)
See you soon!

The Best Dad!

Edited: This card was selected as one of the Fabulous Fashionista :) Thank you so much RIC team.

I had this idea in my head but took me forever to get in on paper. I wanted to use triangles in multicolours for ric #8 challenge. How to lay it out on the card was crazy. Until I found Retro Sketch #4. Then everything fell into place.
So here is the sketch and the inspirational photo.

Such a pretty dress. But I made a masculine card instead.

The Best Dad Card!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant Cardstock from Stampin' Up! Pink Textured cardstock from SU

I like how it turned out. Hope you do too.
I am having multiple disturbances from family right now. So I better sign off now.

Liebster Blog Award

For past few days, I have been humbled and honoured by the generosity of some talented crafters who have awarded me with the Leister Blog Award.
Here is the list of  talented crafters who have awarded me this award.

Your work is gorgeous and you are all very talented. Love all your work. I enjoy visiting your blogs and seeing all your amazing projects and certainly learn something new. Thank you so much for nominating me for the award :)

I hope I have not missed anybody. I went through my list but if I have missed anybody, please remind me and I will definitely add your name to the list.
The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.

To accept the award, you must:
1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.

It is hard choosing just 5, isn't it?
Nevertheless, here are my chosen 5

1. Deb
2. Euna
4. Susie

The work all these crafters are just wonderful and I always find some great techniques or fantastic colour combinations when I visit their blogs. So please visit their blog and leave them some love :)

Thanks so much for visiting and see you soon :)

Birthday Invitation

Its the 25th and today is Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. I think for the past two years, I would have missed couple of hops? I didn't want to miss this one because the inspirational picture is "awesome"

Aqua and yellow colour combination and those stripes & polka dots are just so pretty. Loved it straightaway. I decided to do Birthday Invitations instead of cards this time. So here is my take on the picture

Birthday Invitation

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White and Aqua Mist cardstock from PTI
Stamp sets: Cupcake Collection from PTI. Party Elements- Critter from Clean and Simple Stamps
Inks: Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist from PTI and Stazon Black Ink
Accessories: Stripes embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Brayer, Frost White Stickles.

I inked the striped embossing folder with PTI's Summer Sunrise ink and embossed a white cardstock panel.  Then stamped the invitation on another white card panel. Adhered this on the embossed card. Diecut and stamped cupcake and adhered using foam squares. Added some frost white stickles to the cupcake. Finally matted the entire card on a Aqua Mist cardstock panel.

This is just a sample. Now I need to make 12 more of it for a friend's toddler birthday party :)
Thanks so much for visiting and happy hopping!

Scrap Challenge

Hi Everybody, Yesterday I was watching Better Homes and Gardens and the decor clip was distressing and rejuvinating an old boring wooden dining table and mix of chairs. The table top was finished with pasting old music papers on table top and varnishing it. Looked pretty good. I wanted  to translate that idea in a card. Light bulb moment lol! And I did it today.
 Here is my card.

Happy Birthday Grandma

The center panel is made by using old dictionary scrap paper. I cut the scrap paper into small pieces, inked the edges and glued them randomly on a 3 1/2 x  4 3/4 inches cardstock. I also stamped images on the panel and coloured them using markers. I then inked the edges of the cardstock. I am so happy with how I was able to use a scrap dictionary paper and a few stamps to create a focal vintage panel. I then added the twine and sentiment strip and finished off with a beautiful red rose flower. This panel is mounted on the red card base using foam adhesives.

Supplies:
Cardstocks: Pure Poppy and vintage cream cardstocks from PTI
Stamps: Prima Marketing clear stamp item # 536244 and sentiments from Delightful Dahilia and Butterflies from Butterfly Dreams from PTI
Inks: Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Archival Black Ink
Accessories: Markers from Stampin' Up!, Sponging tool, Chocolate twine and Prima Marketing red rose flower.

Thanks for visiting and see you soon:)

P.S: I have a fun challenge here. Check it out! If you make a project, please link it up :)

My heart is always with you

Second post for today! I made another card for Moxie Fab World - The Fascination with Feathers Challenge. I made my own feather and made a vintage card.

My Heart card

Supplies:
Cardstock: Kraft and Scarlet Jewel from PTI
Stamps: Love Live Here and Text background stamps from PTI and Feathers and flourishes from Hero Arts
Inks: Archival Black Ink, Frayed Burlap distress ink and Colourbox chalk ink.
Accessories: pattern papers from stash, skewers, sponging tool, lace, paper rose from Kaisercraft. Flourish die from Hero Arts.

I drew a rough sketch of a feather on couple of pattern papers, then stamped some text on it, cut the sketches out. Then scored through the middle. Adhered skewer at the scored middle of the feather piece and then adhere the other piece on the top. Then randomly cut "V" shape to give it a real feather look. Finally inked the edges. Ta da there is a feather :)

It has been a long time since I made a layered card using embellishments. Love it when it is a vintage card. Hope you like it :)

Happy Birthday!

I have another card I made for The Craft's Meows Birthday Bash

Very inspired, I quickly got inking and stamping :)
Here is what I came up

Inspired by Pinterest

Here is my first "Inspired by Pinterest" fun challenge. I have been doing this myself for sometime and in my last post I asked if you would like to join me making a project of your own using the inspirational picture I pick. I received a great response and I am very happy to get it started today :)
It is just for fun and I will glad if you join me :)
Today's inspirational picture is:

I love the shaded bright butterflies on white background. I think I have plenty of butterfly stamps and wanted to give this a try.
What a beautiful card it will make?
Here is my card inspired by the picture above :)

Butterfly card

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White from PTI
Stamp set: Beautiful Butterflies and Pretty Peonies from PTI
Inks: Melon Mambo and Basic Black from SU
Accessories: Corner Chomper

I used rock and roll technique on my card. Inked the butterflies first on Melon Mambo and then rocked the edges with black ink and stamped.  Love the impact it gives on the butterflies :)

If you like to participate in the fun then, please link your project below :)

Happy crafting and see you soon:)

One layer card!

Here is a one layer card, I want to share. I want to stamp this peacock which was big and beautiful and a suitable sentiment but wanted the peacock to the focal  point. So I opted to make a one layer card.

IMGP2786

Supplies:
Cardstock: Gina K luxury white
Stamp sets: Peacock from Inkadinkado and Celebrating You from The Craft's Meows
Inks: Hero Arts Pool Mid Tone Shadow Ink and Night Chalk Ink

The peacock is a rubber stamp from Inkadinakdo and I have stamped it using the New Pool Mid tone Shadow Ink from Hero Arts. I love their inks. Even coverage and works well on rubber stamps. I am not getting that good coverage using clear stamps though!  The sentiment is from The Craft's Meows Celebrating You stamp set.

I am thrilled to receive a good response for my Inspired By Pinterest idea. So you we shall start from this Thursday onwards (which is tomorrow for us here in Australia). Here is a sneak peak of the inspirational photo :)

Easy one to start with I think! Most of us will have butterfly stamps I assume :)
See you tomorrow with the full inspirational picture and my card.

Inspirational Challenge by TCM!

Second post today! Wondering whats happening to me? My client called in sick today and so I didn't have therapy session today. And my in-laws have gone to Sydney on a holiday. So that means lots of free time to organising and stamping :)

Here is the inspirational photo for you.

I am inspired by the warm wood and plants and the purple and green colours :)
Here is my take on the challenge

Edited: I received a few emails asking how I used Hero Arts Large Fabric stamp on the flower. So I thought I will explain it here as well. I inked the Large Fabric Stamp with purple and green distress inks, spritz with water and stamped on a scrap piece of paper. I then stamped the flower image on it and cut it out to adhere on the card :)

Supplies:
Cardstocks: Stampers Select White and Kraft from PTI
Stamp Set: Celebrating life from The Craft's Meows and lage Fabric Design BG stamp from Hero Arts
Inks: Archival Jet Black Ink and purple and green distress inks
Accessories: Corner Chomper

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

My first post for today is about stamp organisation. You can find it here :)

Stamp organisation

I meant to do some organising, stamp especially for a very long time. It is just that I believe that the time I spend organising can be spent stamping instead. So I have delayed organising for such a long time until now. Why now? Thats is because of two reasons. First, majority of my stamps are from Papertrey Ink and they have now changed their packaging system. Secondly, I have started exploring other stamp companies and now have a decent collection which needs storage.

After so much thinking, I decided to go with Martha Stewart's protector sheets which comes in single, two or four pockets with flaps. They also come in two sizes - 8 1/2 X 11 inches and 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. I chose the 8 1/2 X 11 inches sheets because I can get binders  here in Australia without having to ship the binders from USA. I have a lovely friend Cara from Canada who helped me buy these MS protectors from Staples and ship them to me. I bought lots of them at one go. Thanks so much Cara. What will I do without your help!  You are so sweet :)

I have started organising my stamp sets into the folders. I have not done PTI stamps yet because I need an entire day and some heavy acetate sheets to organise. Here are a few pictures of my stamp organisation using MS protector sheets :)

IMGP2772

IMGP2774

I have a fair number of Hero Arts Stamps and I think I need a separate binder :)

IMGP2775

Even the new Clean and Simple stamps fit into it :)

IMGP2776

And here are the pictures of stamps in the four pocket sheets

IMGP2780

IMGP2781

IMGP2782

And another good news is that dies too fit into them. All smaller dies fit into the four pocket sheet and the bigger dies and border dies fit easily into the two pocket sheets. Although I have just organised my smaller dies using CD folders, my larger dies are still inside a box. So I am going to get the larger dies into the two pocket sheets are well.

Amazing how much space I have in my cupboard.  Love that I spent some time today organising. I still have to label them using label maker which I will do this evening in front of TV :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Email me is you have any questions

Have a great day!
