My first ever mixed media card!

 

 Hey everybody, 

After seeing the PC call for mixed media card, I wondered if I will be able to do it!!! It is a totally new thing to me. I have some gelatoes, watercolour paper, paints and some distress ink daubers. And after some encouragement from friends at facebook, I took the plunge this morning :)

I also realised this morning that trying something new is the homework at Summer Card Camp 2.

 

Here is my first ever mixed media card.

I seriously didn't know what I was doing. lol!  I just layered and layered paint, stamped, watercoloured with gelatoes, stamped with gelatoes and inks, layered again and finally stamped. The best part was to go through some of my extra diecuts and use them on the card :) I was scared what the end result was going to be. And out of my comfort zone since my style is CAS. And is there a way to do CAS mixed media card?

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #100

Gorgeous Monday today! Sun is shining bringing in warm on a winter day! Enjoying it! I only wish my craft room was facing North to bring some sun shine. It is COLD in there:( So I crafted on my kitchen table today and played along Iwona Palamountain's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #100.

I wanted to do a pretty card with pretty colours and flowers. The flowers and sentiments are from Designer Flowers from Annabelle Stamps. The leaves are Turning into New Leaf dies from PTI and the background stamp is from Mamma Elephant Stamps. The sequins are from Neat and Tangled!

Friday Feature and a Farewell!

Here is my Easter card.

 I have chosen Easter Chickadee and Easter Blessings Stamp sets to make my card.

Love the images on Easter Chickadee and the coordinating dies are just awesome. The sentiment is from Easter Blessings Stamp set. These two sets are the news set release last month.

Now to the sad part. I have decided to step down from AnnaBelle Stamps Design Team. Two reason: Life has become very chaotic since moving to Perth. And I am having extended family visit me in April and May. I want to spend quality time with my children and husband and get myself organised first. Then be able to host the  extended family for two months. I am sad to leave but I am grateful for the opportunity Andrea gave me. I have enjoyed working with her and her design team. Thank you!

I used a portrait layout of the sketch. And I did some masking too. And those bubble image is actually the Christmas tree stamp from Jewelled Tree stamp set.



The focal point flowers and sentiment is from Standing Tall stamp set.

I have used the new Standing tall stamp set for my card. The background paper is digital pattern paper from Artichoke Collection from AnnaBelle Stamps. The sparkles and twine are also from AnnaBelle Stamps.
Don't you love that flower cluster? This is a must have set.

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Sunday everybody!

 It is a gorgeous Sunday morning for me in Australia.
I am hoping to get out and enjoy the sushine today. But before that I have card to share.

I was experimenting with the new Designer Flowers stamp set from AnnaBelle Stamps to create a background paper. It turned out well that I made a card. Here it is for you.

What I have done is I went through Nichole Heady's Tie'n Dye video. Wanted to do that technique for a long time. So I went ahead and created the background with orange and pink inks. Then I stamped the flower outline images in pink ink with the flower center using black ink. I really love how the tie-dye technique on the background highlights the flowers. A big bold senitment embossed using pink embossing powder on a banner, finishes the card. I let the background take the spotlight:)

AnnaBelle Stamps New Release Blog Hop!

Here is the first set.



This set is called Standing Tall. It is a 6' x 4' stamp set and retails for $17.95. I love cluster of flowers especially modern tall flowers. The sentiments are so pretty with two fonts. Such a pretty set.
Here are my projects based on Standing Tall Stamp set.

This one above is a one layer card. I have coloured the flowers with gorgeous orange and pink girly combination of colours. Pretty and simple card. I love it.

I love this one as well. I have blue and red combiantion here. I have an offset design, combined with pretty polka dot digital pattern paper from AnnaBelle Stamps. I have done tone on tone heat embossing of the stamps, shaded with blue copics and added bling. The red twine at the fold of the card balances the offset design.

You think, Standing Tall stamp set is pretty awesome, here is the second set called Designer Flowers



This is a bigger set, 6" x 8" set and retails for $29.95.  I love the solid and outline images of the flowers. The two different sizes and variety of flower centres. There is opportunity to colour the flowers, heat emboss in different colours, combine solid and outline images, layer the flowers....... Very versatile set. I love this one too.
Here is my card using this Designer Flowers stamp set.

I have white embossed the two outline flower stamps on kraft and coloured two tone-red and orange. I then cut them out. I have also done the same with the leaves. I also stamped and heat embossed the flower center on brown cardstock and cut it out. I have layered the flowers and leaves with yellow and cream twine bows in between.

I have also created the lattice using wonky rectangle spellbinder die and thin strips of red cardstock. Here is a closeup of the card. Love how the layered offset flowers complement the lattice window.
