I have used: Kraft cardstock, Cosmo Cricket pattern paper, satin ribbons, paper flowers, sewing pins, Sincere Salutations stamp set from Stampin' up! and scalloped and circle nestabilities dies.

Its been a very busy week generally. Although I have made few layouts I cannot show them now. But will share soon.

Some new cards

Hehehe!!! second post today. I wanted to show you couple of new cards I made for a sketch challenge for the Elite Challenge blog. These cards are based on a sketch taken from 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! idea catalogue.

I have used Very Vanilla, Pumpkin pie and Kraft cardstocks, Sincere Salutations and Pocket Silhouettes stamps sets, Pumpkin Pie ribbon, scalloped punch and Chocolate Chip ink pad all from Stampin' Up! Further I have used Cuttle Bug embossing folder to emboss the kraft card stock.

I liked the color combination here. And kraft is my favourate color. Just love them as the base.
Similarly, the Very vanilla too is awesome for the base card. Mmmm!! OMG!! I have to go. Time to pick the kids from school. Siddarth also has 3 way interview at 3.30pm followed by swimming.Bye for now.
Have a great evening

Layout and Sketch

Hey everybody,

Yesterday, my internet was down. It felt like my hands were cut off. I did not realise how my I was addicted to it. Very bad.

But it freed me to do come cleaning up and massive cooking. lol!!! Aditi my DD and myself always have a tiff about her keeping her room tidy. Every week either my husband or myself tidy or help her to tidy her room. We tried our best to teach her to organise things, fold and how to keep her clothes in the cupboard and also keep her toys organised in boxes. Never happens. The room was littered with toys, clothes, papers, booking......

Recently I started telling her that if she does not keep her room tidy, I will encroach her room with my scrapbooking stuff. That happened yesterday. I spent 5 hours, cleaning her room and moving all my scrapbooking stuff into her room. She was not happy when she came back from school. But thats the consequence of not keeping her room tidy. Now there are some promises flying here and there about how she will keep her things neat and tidy and by end of 2 month I have to move out of her room!!! Lets see...lol!!!!!!

I also cut my finger yesterday. One of my glass cracked and when I tried to pick it up, I cut my finger. Did not release that a cut will severely reduce my work efficiency. Its the middle finger of the right hand and gives my sharp pain whenever somthing comes in contact with it. Nicely banaged up and lol!! you know how it looks. Use your imagination... I am not telling you. Hehehe.

Two realisation happened yesterday. 1. I am addicted to internet and 2. a cut on my finger will reduce my work efficiency. Mmmm!!! Its still hard to type you know!

Ok, now to the scrapping part. Here is my take on the Deb's June Master Blaster challenge. You can find the details here

I have used the June Aussie Pub calls kit. Basic Grey Wisteria range papers and stickers and embellishments from the kit. If you want to receive the kit then, contact Sine from Aussie Pub Calls. Link is on the left hand top corner.

And here is the sketch of the layout.

You can use this sketch if you like it and let me know about it too.

I have something more to share with you today but will wait some more time.Watch out for the second post for today.

See you soon

Enjoy life...

Hey everybody,
I have been working on this layout since last night. Its a new concept for me. A layout with no photo. I combined two challenges to make this layout. Emily's challenge where I have to use cardboard as the base and basically use scraps and paint on the layout. Second challenge is from Artypants's Scrap a Quote challenge where I have to use one of three quotes provided and paint and a rub ons. I did not have a photo to match the quotes. So I decided on no photo layout. It was a bit of a challenge but I like the end result.
I hope to complete a few challenges this week and then prepare for my upcoming workshop.
OK, I have "BONES" on TV now and its interesting. So, I am off now. Catch you later

I finally did...

Yes, I was finally able to go for card class. I have been trying to go for a class for a very long time. Just could not make it. My husband is on call on the 3 weekends per month and all the classes so far were on those weekends. But this weekend he is not on call and I was able to make it to a class.I was able to mee Leonie, another Stampin' Up! demonstrator. We made 2 cards and it was so much fun.Loved both the cards.

I met some locals as well and Christine Slater who has her bio up in this issue of Scrapbooking Memories too was there. Wow! it was fun to meet new people. Enjoyed it.
OK thats it for today. Hope I have something new tomorrow.
And I am still waiting for 4 more followers to do the draw.
There is a scrapbooking kit up for grabs. So follow my blog. : )
Have a great evening.

Scalloped flower tutorial

Step by Step tutorial for making Scalloped flowers

Step #1

I have cut 3 different sizes scalloped circles from two different colour cardstock. I used nestabilities scalloped dies on cuttlebug machine to cut them out.

Step #2

I have inked the edges of the scalloped circles using Metallic Copper ink as shown below

Step #3

I then cut after every 2 scallop as shown in the picture below. Cut just about 2 cms inside.

Cut similarly on all the scalloped circle.

Step #4

Turn over the scalloped circle and use a blunt tool (I have used Basic Grey rub on tool here) and emboss in circular motion on every scallop.

Turn the scalloped circle over and now you get an embossed flower as shown in the picture below.

Repeat this on every scalloped circle.

Step #5

Layer them as shown in the picture below.

Now use a brad and secure them, You could use a brad, pearl, button whatever you like.

That’s it you have layered embossed flowers made out of scalloped circles. Now there is no way you don’t have a matching flower for your card or layout.
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial.
Until next time
Hugs
