Diecuts color challenge

A quick post today sharing a card I made for Embellish Challenge.
It is  a diecuts color challenge.

What a soft and elegant color combination! Reminded me of weddings. So I made a wedding card.
Also today is my SIL's wedding anniversary. So this card is dedicated to her :)

If you like to play along the challenge then, click here.

Autumn Woods - Tuesday Trigger!

Second post for today. I have couple of cards I made for this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World. Here is the inspirational photo.

Glorious warm colorful wood. I tried to get the texture of the wood and the squares of wood protruding on my cards. Here are my take on the photo.

I basically embossed a white cardstock using woodgrain embossing folder then sponged Tim Holtz's distressed inks - Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy, Aged Mahogany, Fire Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick. Then I cut the cardstock into one inch squares and assembled them on the card. Some of the square are raised using foam squares, while some are not.

Here is another take on the same challenge.

The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn " Just my type" and "Clear to see" stamp sets.
There are more inspirations on the same photo here at the Moxie Fab World challenge page.

FTL #164

I am playing Fall to Layout challenge after a very very long time. Since I have decided my style will be CAS, I decided to pay along FTL this week. Here is the sketch for you.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I had a precut pattern paper from SU already in my pile and  some vintage diecuts from 7 Gypsies which matched the paper. The sentiment is from MFT Just My Type stamp and die set. Other supplies from SU (black cardstock), spellbinder dies, Tim Holtz Distress inks and twine.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend.

Cleaned craft room ( long post)

The whole of yesterday, I cleaned my craft room. Silly me! I did not take the before photos. But these are after photos. Earlier, the desk used to sit against the wall but I changed the layout of it because I wanted to sit between the desk and the cupboard  so I can access both the desk and things from the cupboard easily. The cupboard is on the right side on the photo. No coordinating furnitures because I am moving to Perth next year and will buy coordinating furnitures for my new craft room in my new house in Perth. I have just cleaned and rearranged what I have.

This is my new light tent below. As you can see, I still haven't fixed any lights. In the process of settng fixing them but the sunlight is good at the moment and photos are turning out good. There is a sewing machine ready to go but I am lazy to use it :(

These are the two shelves inside the cupboard where I store my craft supplies. All labeled for me to find where is what. I have two big boxes of alterables. I need to go through them and make use of them!

This is my son. He wanted to be in the photo and so here he is lol! He loved my new layout and wanted to move his bed here and use it as his desk. Mummy can we exchange room? No! I cannot bear to rearrange and clean every thing all over again!

Chase him off and you can see him behind the desk lol! My desk has inks and glues. The cardstocks are inside the file drawer below. The IKEA Alex draws has PTI stamps, embossing powder, punches, flowers, bigger dies....

The smaller Alex drawer has the extra adhesives, acrylic blocks, more stamps, rhinestone, copics and other things.

This is my diecutting table. At the moment I have the bigshot with a twisted handle but works. The box next to it has the smaller plates and embossing mats. The white box has the smaller dies and the box with blue lid has the larger dies. I still need to find a better way to store my dies. I cannot find any magnetic sheets in Kalgoorlie. So will have to wait until I get to Perth to get that sorted out.

This is a wall art I made using papers and glimmer mist. I was inspired by a huge wall decor at the Ridges Hotel in Perth? They were made of iron and rusted. I wanted to get that rustic effect on paper and kind of achieved it, I think! I love it! What do you think?

These are pattern papers which needs sorting. I like a few of them but rest to be disposed.

This is what I have started doing to some of the pattern papers I like. I cut them to fit a card base. So next time I don't have to spend time picking papers and then cutting them. I am planning to also precut some card base in neutral colors.I got the idea from Danielle Daws. Thanks Danielle!

My craft desk is very inviting and so want to do some cards but I have to make 500 Gulab Jamuns for the school fete. I better get started. Catch you all later today! Thanks for stopping by!

New goodies came and

I made couple of cards :) Now-a-days, I  know what I want, explore whats available and buy. Earlier I would buy from what is released from one or two particular companies. I like postage stamp frames and MFT recently released a stamp set and coordinating postage stamp frame dies.Of course, it has to come home. What a nice feeling to be able to find what I want :)
Here are my cards using the postage stamp frame.

I also recycled a cardboard paper that came with another package. The color looked darker and it is thicker than cardstock. I diecut the frame uing them and ran through the woodgrain impression plate. Then inked the edges. They looked beautiful and rustic. The leaves and flower images are from  Wplus9. The frame diecut and sentiments are from MFT. Pattern paper is from Basic Grey and Kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink. Hope you like them :)

Finally, I get to clean my craft room today. Kids have no school as its Queen's birthday public holiday. They have their friends over for play date. Hubby at work and so I have all the time today to clean my room :)

Will see if I can take some pictures and share :) See you soon!

I love Bicycles

Yes, I love love bicycles. I used to ride to school and enjoyed the breeze on my face. I still do. When time permits I ride my bicycle with my DD riding besides me. We have great time chatting and bonding with each other.
I was on the lookout for bicycle stamp set and Dana from PTI forum  introduced me to this set called "The Whole Cycle" from Practicing Creativity. I loved it and in about couple of weeks the set was in my mailbox. I could not wait to ink them. Here is my card using the bicycle stamp from the set.

You know after a lot of thought, I have finally decided my style is CAS with one or two layers. No more shabby chic style layering for me. Its bulky and the layers fall off after a while. I am going to get rid of all fancy embellishments and pattern papers I have been hoarding for years now. That will give me more space and therefore I know what I have and not drown in papers.... flowers..... I did get rid of many SU stamps because I was not using them. There is more to go. I cannot believe I had accumulated to many of them.
Anyway, now that I have the light tent and been taking picture using it, I have this confusion on choosing one photo to put on the blog! All of them look nice :) So I am adding another photo of the card as I could not decide which one to use.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day. Happy Diwali :)

PTI Blog Hop- October 2011

Another month brings another Blog Hop from Papertrey Ink.
Here is the inspirational photo for this month's blog hop.

Well, I love the colors and fabrics. But I don't have any fabrics with me. So used the colors to make my card. Here is my card.

I used this week's Make It Monday technique to create the background. I used woodgrain impression plate on vintage cream cardstock and brayered Summer Sun, Orange Zest and  SU's Pumpkin Pie inks. Love the background! Great technique. Leaves using Papertrey Ink dies and the pumpkin is from Daily Designs stamp set also from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from Up Up and Away additions set also from Papertrey Ink.

I am going hopping now. Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
Happy Diwali

Couple of Christmas tags....

I received my Damask dies from Papertrey Ink last week and have been dying to use it. This morning I had a chance to use it and I made some Christmas tags using unusual colors :)

I love them. I can use it as a large snowflakes and layering them is just so beautiful. Don't you think? Great buy!
I have received more stamp set from companies like Practicing Creativity and Lawn Fawn. The beautiful bicycle set from Practicing Creativity is my fav. I feel like keeping them under my pillow and sleeping. My son used to do that when he was a toddler. He kept all his fav toys under his pillow. The pillow will be so high and he will sleep next to it horizontally and hug it. lol! So cute. I cannot wait to ink them later today.
But see you soon with a card with fall colors :)

Finesse the dress...

Thats the Tuesday Trigger challenge at Moxie fab. Here is the inspirational photo of the dress.

Love love the damask design on the dress. The dress, color and the damask caught my eye when I first saw it. So my card is based on them. Here is my card.

I used the apron die from Taylored Expressions, the dress form die from Papertrey Ink. The damask image and the sentiments are from Papertrey Ink. I have also use the Giga Guideline impression plate on the cardstock as the background. Hope you can see it. Rhinestones from Kaisercraft.

Oh! my light tent arrived and I took this photo using the light tent. I still haven't set it up but just could not resist but quickly used it to take photo :) I seriously need to clean and organise my craft room. Hoping I will make a start this week.  I will have to use one wheely bin exclusively for the rubbish from my craft room.Lost of cheapy stuff to throw away. I need to learn not to buy cheapy stuff. Such a waste of $$$$ Anyway, these are things to do for me :) Thanks for stopping by!

More projects for the fete....

Here are some more items I made for the school fete. This is one of the cupcake tag set I made for the fete.

Then this one below is a CASE. I am sure some of you have seen something similar in SU catalogue. Yes, the first time I saw it on the SU catalogue, I said to myself I want to make it. I didn't have the train set or die. So I used the car instead of the train :) I love it. Hoping to make atleast one more of it. Wish I had the PTI train set and die!!! But here is my version of it :)

These below I made yesterday after gorgeous Cara from PTI forum linked a video tutorial on making this flower. Here is the link to the tutorial if you like - Fringed Flower Tutorial
These are so cute and very easy to make. I enjoyed making them.

I have heaps of cards too. But they are all packed and ready to go for the stall. Then there are a few frames which is in school at the moment. I will take photo tomorrow and share it.

Oh! postie came today and I was not at home at the time, I have a few packages to pick up! Very exciting :)
A couple came in the mail. I got couple of Lawn Fawn set to play with and some spellbinder dies too. I am thrilled :) But now I have to fold and iron clothes and then pick up kids from school.

Enjoy your day! So see you soon...

Congrats card set.

Firstly, I would like to thank all of you who have given me great display ideas for my craft projects made for school fete. They are all fantastic and I have taken down notes. I will take photos of my display on the fete day and share them with you. I knew I could count on you guys :) Priya, I have used hot glue to stick all my flowers on the metal hair clips. They stick pretty good for me.

Here is another card set for the fete. Its a Congratulations set. I wanted to open and ink PTI's Congrats stamp set released couple of months ago. And when organising my stamps, I found a Kaisercraft Christmas stamp set from last year. It had a huge damask stamp. I wanted to use it and silver embossing powder and different colors to make my cards. Here they are for you.

I wanted to make them all clean and simple yet glamorous. Thats why I used silver embossing powder and sliver paper to matt. I did not have double stitched Hawaiian Shore ribbon, so I used the satin HS ribbon instead. HS double stitiched ribbon is on my "to buy" list.

Tomorrow school restarts for the last term. Its a short and full on term. In Australia, our school start in Feb and end in Dec. I cannot wait for tomorrow. I am a person who loves routine and cannot wait to get into the routine. Work also retarts tomorrow. But that means waking up early, school runs, drives to evening classes.... busy but thats how I like it. Also what I am excited about is I will be getting some new goodies in my mail. I think in total of 4 or 5 parcels to come. Beautiful colourful copics, cute stamps, dies and light tent. All excited.

But now I need a good sleep. Thanks for stopping by!

Goodnight! See you soon...

Inspired by...

Maile's new wine bottle tag die to be released by PTI tomorrow, I made my own version of wine bottle tags.I really like the wine tags because you could do up the bottle by adding a gorgeous tag on it. I made mine using circle punch, spellbinder dies, corner chomper and Celebrating You stamp set from Craft Meows.
Here are a few pictures of the wine tags.

You can make three winde bottle tags out of one cardstock :) I have two here and third one was a practice tag which I had to chuck into the bin.

I have a party to go to this evening and I have a bottle of wine and now its all dressed with a gorgeous tag :)
Thanks for the inspiration Mailie :)

See you soon!
