Inkspiration color challenge #13

Afternoon everybody,

Quick post to show my take on Makeesha Byl'e Inkspiration color challenge #13.

Here are the colors for the challenge

I have used Chocolate Chip cardstock as my base and worked on Very Vanilla interior. I used my new 3 heart punch and punched out from Ski slope, Bella Blue and Haiku DSPs, some from chocolate chip, not quite navy and old olive cardstocks and arranged them. I used dimensionals on a few hearts for the 3-D effect. I love the 3 heart punch. Cute little heart shapes. This is quick, clean and simple card.

DSP: Bella blue, Haiku and Ski slope
Ink pads: chocolate chip

Stamp a stack of Christmas cards

Christmas is not too far away.
I know I have to start sending out Christmas cards by November.
So I am making some Christmas cards for my October workshop.
They are simple, crisp and clean cards which can be mass produced easily.
This also means that we are going to use just a few supplies to make them.
 Here are the samples

The stamp set used here is called Holiday Lineup from Stampin' Up!. I love them. You can color them and they are cute and funny as well. The sentiment stamp is from Occassional Greetings Stamp set from Stampin' Up! Can you see the ribbon? They are from this month's promotion. If you order 100$ or more from Stampin' Up! this is one of the ribbon spool you recieve free. Cardstocks used are Whisper White and Real Red from Stampin' Up!.
I love these cards. Do you too?

Then, if you are in Kalgoorlie and want to make these cards.

Come for my workshop on 16th October at 7.00pm.
Its 20$ for 10 cards. Wow! 2$ for a card.
Thats cheap and best you are having fun making them.
Contact me here and book your spot.
I have only 3 spots left.
See ya later.

Mojo Monday #105

Hello everybody,

I have been looking forward to the new mojo monday sketch  and here it is.
Its an interesting sketch. The DT cards gave me some courage to do the sketch.

I liked the layered large scalloped circles. Very pretty. But that was tricky bit for me.
Initially, I stamped Circle Circus and punched out circles and made a card.
Here is my first attempt.

CS: Baja Breeze
DSP: Sweet Slumber Speciality paper
Stamp Sets: Circle Circus and Game cards
Accessories: Pacific point ribbon
Ink pads: Riding hood red and Basic Black

But I was not very happy with it.
My latest parcel from Stampin' Up! arrived yesterday.
I wanted to break open and use my new stuff.
And christmas cards are in need in the near future.
So I made a christmas card.
This time I punched out circles out of CS and DSP. Nothing fancy and it works
Here it is and I like this one

CS: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Read Red and Kiwi Kiss
DSP: Bella Rose
Stamp Set: Occassional Greetings
Ink pads: Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Circle punch, Clear embossing powder, heat gun, versamark Satin ribbon, 5/8' grosgrain red ribbon

Thanks for an awesome sketch.
Great to participate in a lovely sketch challenge.
I love sketches. lol!!!
Now I have a long wait until Monday for a brand new sketch.

Thanks for stopping by

ATCs

 Hi everybody,

How are you all doing? Hope you had a fun filled weekend or still having a funn filled weekend. Mine was too. I had a great time at our friend's daughter's birthday party. Again it was more a family getting together. So it was so much fun. we sang kareoke, ate yummy food, kids played while adults chatted. Great time.

This week is the last week of school for this term. 2 weeks of school holidays starting from Saturday. Kids are looking forward to it. Movies to go to, friends to be invited for play and sleepover and what more  travel is on the list. Yay!!!

And I am so looking forward to October 4th to meet with my upline and her other team members. What an opportunity to meet other Stampin' up! demonstrators in Kalgoorlie. Getting prepared for it. Another yay!!!

Today is a cold and rainy day here for me. So i sat to make some ATCs for the swaps.
The first one is a swap at Claire's forum (Stampin' Up! upmost upline). Technique is faux leather.

Didn't I tell you that I liked the Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point colors from Stampin' Up!. So here you go. I have used them for these ATCs along with Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock. I have also used Oval All stamp set from the New Spring Mini catalogue and oval and scalloped oval punches, Kiwi Kiss 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, black embossing powder and heat gun.
I wanted the faux leather to be shown so I did not jazz up the ATCs.

This one is for Challange Chic Black and Yellow ATC swap.

I have used Emboss resist technique here. The daisies are my favourate Upsy Daisy stamp set from Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from Always Stamp set from Stampin' Up!. Also used is Yoyo sunshine stampin' up! ink pad, versamark, Basic Black ink pad from Stampin' Up! and yellow & white coredination cardstock.

I have also received some ATCs from other participants and they are just beautiful and inspirational. Love them. What a great idea to swap each others creations. I am sure I will have a great collection.

Now, I see blogger has made some new changes. I really like them. There are more options to jazz up the post. I particularly like these jump lines and undo buttons. Thanks Blogger. Greatly appreciated.

Thanks for stopping by everybody.
I really appreciate your comments on my blog.
They motivate me. Thanks you.
if you have time, why not try my simple card sketches on my sketch blog.

Makeesha Byl's Sketch challenge #13

Good morning everybody,

Another saturday morning. Hectic as usual.
But before I go, I thought I will blog my take on Makeesha Byl's Sketch challenge #13.
This is her sketch for this week.

I had one look at it and then I knew I have to use the Sense of time stamp set from the new Spring Mini Stampin Up! catalogue and my square punches.
Here is my take on the sketch.

I used the emboss resist technique for this card.

CS: Not quite Navy (photo does not show the color at all! Weird!) and Very Vanilla.
Stamp set: Sense of time from the new Spring mini catalogue
and En francis background stamp

Inks: Not quite navy and Chocolate chip
Accessories: Versamark, clear embossing powder, sponge,
edge distressor, heat gun and blue bling brad.

All products from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for a wonderful sketch once again, Makeesha.
One day I hope to do the color challenge as well!

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Morning everybody,

Last evening, I had to urgently buy a gift and make a card for a young resident doctor who is leaving Kalgoorlie as she completed her posting. Oh! my husband always forgets to tell me early. I am used to it now. So, he tells me at 3.330pm for a 6.30pm dinner at another friend's house!
So a quick trip to the shop and bought the gift. Now it needs to be wrapped and card has to be made. I have plenty of birthday and thank you cards but not best wishes ones.
So I wipped up one in 15 minutes.I was pretty satisfied with how it turned up.

CS: Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss from Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Baroque motifs and Oval all frm Stampin' Up!
Inks: Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss from Stampin' Up!
Accessories: Tempting turquoise brads, scalloped oval punch, scalloped border punch, oval punch, heat and stick powder, dazzling diamonds, heat gun and Baja Breeze ribbon all from stampin' Up!

I then wrapped the gift using Bella Blue DSP, crimped the edges and used the Very Vanilla 5/8" grosgrain ribbon which is one of the free ribbon available when you order more than 100$ of Stampin' Up! products or host a workshop for more than 600$ in sales in September.
I love the Combination of White,Blue and Green, especially Pacific Point blue and Kiwi Kiss green. Awesome color combo. I wanted a skirt and top in that color combo and I found one too. Shopping next!!!

Thanks for stopping by

Mojo Monday Sketch #104

Hey everybody,

I love Mojo Monday sketches. So whenever time permits, I make cards using the sketches from Mojo Monday blog. This week's sketch has circles. I love circles, so I gave it a go.
Here is the sketch for you

And here is my take on the sketch.

I have used Very Vanilla card stock as the base. Kiwi Kiss to mat the Sweet Slumber speciality paper. I have used Kiwi Kiss, Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock
to punch out the scalloped circles and circles and layered them.
The ribbon is Very Vanilla 5/8' grosgrain ribbon which is in this month's free bundle
when you order for 100$ or host sales of 600$ from Stampin' Up!.
Isn't it cool? Love ribbons.
The stampset I have used here is Tree Trimmings from the Spring Mini catalogue
available until november 09. I have stamped using Riding hood red inkpad,
cut out the ornaments and mounted them using dimensionals.
The sentiment is from Best Yet hostess level 1 stamp set
which you get if you order for 300$ or more from Stampin' Up!.
So saffron brads perfectly match the rest of the card.
All products are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for the gorgeous sketch. Looking forward to the next week's sketch.

Great time making a these projects.

This is a beautiful card using Baroque motifs. I have also used heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds on the swirls. I love this card. So far my favourate.

This is a gift card holder. The technique here is using pastels on versamark.

This is a masculine card. I love this stamp set. Just perfect for a male card

Lastly these popsicle cards are very cute children's cards.I have shown two colors but we made 4 colors. There is pink and orange too. Love the tart and tangy stamp set. This was the most popular set. Everybody liked making it.

Morning everybody,

Today is my daughter Aditi's 8th birthday. Can't believe she is 8 already.

8 years have quickly passed by.My baby is now a girl, all grown up right under my nose. lol!
She is still my baby though, always for a mother I guess!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADITI

She is all excited and off to school and getting all the attention. lol!!!
She got a new bigger bicycle, a new DS game, a barbie doll (Siddarth's present) and of course an awesome dusty pink dress, hairband, sandals to match for her birthday.
Special breakfast and dinner will special too.
I made cupcakes for classmates. My first time at baking (I was nervous).
I am lucky they came out well. I am happy.
Both Aditi and Sid helped me to lick all the icing and cake mix off the mixmaster.
We had a fun making the cupcakes.
Here are the pictures of the cupcakes.

And I made the takeaway bags as well.

Here I have used K & Co Que Sera Sera textured papers (I loooove this collection),
Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla and Tangerine Tango cardstock,
Stampin' Up! ribbons, Scalloped oval and oval punch,
Stampin' Up! Oval all stamp set from the Spring Mini
and the cellophone medium cover also from Stampin' Up!

Her birthday party is tomorrow.
Its more a social event for us as we invite all our family friends too.
A lot of food, drink (non alcoholic) and chat. Can't wait.

But today I have a workshop in the evening.
