Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Sharing with you today a cupcake card using beautiful Penny Black dies.

Happy Birthday cupcake 1

This cupcake die from Penny Black called Sweet Confection is a very detailed cupcake die I have seen. The die is also stylish that I wanted to make it the focal point on the card. I die cut a few cupcakes and stacked glued them to get dimension. I coloured the top layer of the cupcake with copic markers, adding shading and shimmer using Wink of Stella pen.

To highlight this pretty cupcake on my card, I added some blue splatter using Tim Holtz Splatter stencil. I thought about sponging blue ink inside a circle mask or just freehand sponging blue ink on the background but this stencil was right there on the desk staring at me. So I used the stencil instead. I sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink and also added some gold spatter. The cupcake is adhered using foam adhesives although I had stacked a few layered of the cupcake die cut. I love the raised effect and shadow the foam gives rather than glued the stacked die cut glued flush on the card front. The sentiment is also from Penny Black called Celebrations die set die cut in black cardstock and glued to the card front.

I love the simplicity of this card and how the cupcake is the focal point with its beautiful colours highlighted. The shimmer is just gorgeous under light. Hope you like it.

This is my take on Furry Friends Challenge.

Furry friends card1

To make my card, I used Newton Nook's Naughty Newton stamp set. I love this set with Newton the cat doing lots of naughty things. Among the images, this one where Newton is sitting with couple of pots with one of them pushed over took my fancy. Newton looks cheeky in this one. So I coloured this image using copic markers. Then die cut a circle using one of the stitched circle from nested circles.

For the background, I used Tim Holtz's Splatter stencil and Ripe Persimmon distress ink to sponge. It kind of added to the mess, Newton had already made. lol! The sentiments were stamped on Simon Says Stamp Talk Bubble die cuts and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally to bring the card together, I have added Espresso 6mm and 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Runway Inspired Challenge #87

Welcome back!

Sharing with you a new Runway Inspired Challenge #87 - Holly Fulton.

Gorgeous outfit especially the lacey top. The colours are pastel and pretty. Something very very difficult for me to work with. Took me long time to figure out this one but it all turned out good at then end. This is my take on the challenge.

hello card1

I silver heat embossed the Quilled Hello and the smaller sentiment from the Quilled Elegance stamp set from Altenew on vellum cardstock.

Hello card inside

The card base is a Icy Mint Bazzill cardstock which is the perfect colour of the outfit. I stamped the images from Striped Flower stamp set from Altenew. with Silver Delicata ink. I then layered the vellum panel on the cardbase using a strip of silver cardstock. Finally accented with silver 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. here are couple of closeup.
