More new projects from Taylored Expressions!

Hey everyone,

I have more Taylored Expressions projects to share today. Here is card #1

Happy Camper #2 by Gayatri Murali

Taylored Expressions has released a new die set for Happy Trails stamp set called Happy Trails Accessories. There is already dies for the trailers called Happy Trails - Trailer dies. Together with the dies, Happy Trails stamp set is a must have camping set. I had great fun heat embossing the images and watercolouring them. Then I die cut them using the coordinating dies. Using Build a Scene Rolling Hills dies from Taylored Expressions, I created a camping scene on my card. The sky is created using watercolour and the mountains from Happy Trails Stamp set.

And my second card keeping with the camping theme.

Life is Better by Gayatri Murali

For this card, I have used Build a Scene: Lakeside die set, Lakeside Border and  Paddle Out stamp set. The Build A Scene: Lakeside die set has everything to create a lakeside camp site. All I have done is to die cut using Taylored Expressions Premium cardstocks, sponged distress inks to give depth to the die cuts and adhered on the largest circle die cut from Stitched Circle Stacklets. Trimmed the excess of the circle. I adhered this on the stitched rectangle panel die cut using the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment below the circle.  Love creating scenes. They make a big impact on the card. Hope you like my projects today.

Sending Hugs & Kisses! A Penny Black card!

Hello everyone,

I am so thrilled to find time to craft today. This precious craft time was so hard to get for past month and a half. Life threw a curve ball at me. So many unexpected things piled up and sorting them out took all the time. No time or energy to craft. Now most of stuff is sorted and settled. There is a routine to the madness now. So relieved Yay!
I am sharing a card today with you which is totally out of my comfort zone. This style is not my style, however this was my style when I did scrapbooking layouts. Although I was nerves doing this card, it was not hard once I got started. Here is the card for you.

Sending Hugs and Kisses flat

There are a lot of dies from Penny Black using on this card. The background is also created using Penny Black cling stamp set called Brick Wall. I white heat embossed the stamp set and watercoloured with brown watercolours. Over this background, I layered with a black Half Circle die cut also from Penny Black. I adhered this die cut at an angle for added interest. Then I layered with lots of leaves die cut using Penny Black Leaves dies. On top of these leaves, I layered three flowers and leaves die cut using Penny Black Layered Flowers. At this stage, I added purple and green glitter using Multi Medium Matt. Finally, I added some flowers from Prima Marketing, a twine bow and lots and lots of Silver Shimmer Seed Beads from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Penny Black Special Thoughts stamp set.

Sending Hugs and Kisses

There is a lot of layering on this card. I love how it turned out. So pretty. I still want to learn how to work the randomness of the glitter or microbeads. Normally it is microbeads that are used to add texture to the flowers. I don't have any and hence my alternative was Seed Beads. It worked too. Here is a closeup of the card.

Hope you like my card. All the Penny Black products and new releases are now available for purchase from the Penny Black Store.

You are totally awesome! Taylored Expressions Release day!

It is release day at Taylored Expressions! All new products that were sneak peeked for past three days are now available for purchase at the Taylored Expressions store.

Today I am sharing couple of cards I made using a new stamp set called  Bold Brush Strokes!

Bold Brushstrokes

I LOVE the brush fonts on this stamp set and the size of the font is nice and big. Perfect to use as a focal point. And the sentiments are awesome too. I have combined this set with Stroke of Genius 2 Stamp Set to make my cards.

Stroke of Genius 2

Here is my first card. This is a girlie birthday card using three different shades of pink.

Happy Birthday #1 by Gayatri Murali

I have used the images from Stroke of Genius 2 stamp set and stamped in three different shades of pink. The ink I have used are from Altenew. Then I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Bold Brushstrokes stamp set as well as three spatter images from Strokes of Genius 2. Love the touch of gold. Then I die cut the panel using the largest of the stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and mounted the panel on kraft card base. Finally embellished with sequins from various Taylored Expressions collections.

My second card is masculine. My son always wanted me to make masculine teen cards to give his friends. This one is for him.

You are Totally Awesome by Gayatri Murali

On this card, I have layered the images from Stroke of Genius 2 stamp set. I love these images. They are truly a stroke of genius ;)  Using blues and yellow this card becomes masculine. I don't believe in muted masculine card. I like them bright. Hence I have used bright blue and yellow along with navy. Then I black heat embossed the sentiment from Bold Brushstrokes stamp set.  Looks totally cool! To bring in more black colour to tie in with the black sentiment, I added a strip of black cardstock and embellished with Doodlebug Beetle Sprinkles enamel dots.

I have used Stencil Girl Rose Window stencil to add interest on the background of my card.

Sending big hugs card #1

I sponged Simon Says Stamp Mint ink on the Rose Window stencil on my white card base. I sponged the ink from the centre fading to the outside of the stencil. This gives a nice soft ombre effect. I love the details of the stencil on the card front.

Sending big hugs closeup #1

For the focal floral cluster I have used  the negative from Simon Says Stamp Single Roses dies. I had the watercoloured negative die cuts left over after I had use the positive die cuts on another card. I clustered them for my focal point. They have some gorgeous shimmer from Wink of Stella pen. The Sentiment is from Big Scripty Greetings also from Simon Says Stamp which I stamped using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink.  To frame the sentiment, I added a few more leaves diagonally opposite to the focal cluster. Finally embellished with 4mm Gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and copper sequins from Little Things by Lucy
