Winnie & Walter's April/May 2015 release - Day #3

Yay!, Welcome back folks!

Today is day #3 of Winnie & Walter's April/May new release preview.
Here is Day #1 and Day #2  previewed projects.

Today, we are previewing In Bloom: Addie’s Garden stamp set. Two new cutaways:  In Bloom: Maggie’s Roses Cutaways and The Big, the Bold and Extras Cutaways.

My projects today showcases my favourite stamp set in this release In Bloom Addie's Garden. On my card below, I did the whimsical watercolouring.

You are precious Day 3

I simply stamped the flowers and leaves around the edges of the watercolour paper with Archival black ink. This is waterproof ink. Then I randomly watercoloured the flowers and leaves with Zig Tambi watercolour. I also did some spatters of black. I just love this whimsical watercolouring  which is undefined and uncontrolled and black outline of the flowers which is defined and controlled. So now there is balance Haha!

you are precious flat

The sentiment is from My Precious stamp set to be previewed tomorrow. I then trimmed the panel and adhered on the card base using foam adhesives. Finally accented with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

This is my second project using In Bloom: Addie's Garden.

Hugs card

On this card, I stamped and white heat embossed the flowers and leaves from Addie's Garden on watercolour paper. Then watercoloured the images in the traditional way within the lines. Once dry  I adhered the panel to the card front. Then diecut a black frame using rectangle dies. I popped the frame on the card front with sentiment from The Big, the Bold and Friend stamp set heat embossed. No card of mine is finished without Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Again I have used Sparkly Clear sequins.

Hope you are enjoying projects using the new release stamp sets from Winnie & Walter.

Today, we are previewing Lola's Bouquet by Joni Andaya (Yay!) and two new Cutaways - Essentials: Audrey Cutaways and In a Word Cutaways (4 of them ). Like I said I don't have the dies yet. My card below uses Joni's Lola's Bouquet stamp set.

Lola's bloom card day 2

I absolutely LOVE Lola's Bouquet. So many different flower and foliage elements in the set. There are both solid and outline elements which are versatile to use. So many different techniques can be used with this set.

On my card I have done layered stamping to create my own background on my card front. I simply love the colours and contrast using black with colours.

Sending hugs flat

I wanted to soften the bright background using vellum layer. I cut out a stamped cluster of flowers and leaves. I adhered this cluster using foam adhesive. The sentiment in from The Big, the Bold and Friend stamp set which heat embossed on white cardstock using Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger. Finally accented with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Winnie & Walter's April/May 2015 release - Day#1

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day #1 sneak peek of Winnie & Walter's April/May new release.

Today we are premiering The Big and the Bold series two new stamp sets and dies - The Big, the Bold and Comfort stamp set and The Big, the Bold and Friends stamp set. They have coordinating cutaways! woohoo! The Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaway and The Big, the Bold and Comfort Cutaway.

I have two cards to share today. One using each of the stamp sets. My dies have not arrived yet. So my cards do not showcase any dies unfortunately. I promise to share more projects using the dies when they arrive.

Here is my first card using The Big, the Bold and Friends sentiment as the focal point.

Friend card

I have black heat embossed the sentiment on white cardstock panel. Then I have framed the sentiment using a new stamp set which will be previewed tomorrow called Lola's Bouquet by Joni Andaya. The beautiful sentiment required some beautiful flowers and foliage to frame and draw the eyes to it. I chose to use two different greys, two mint hues and black combination to stamp the flowers and foliage.

Friend closeup2

I then trimmed the panel, added couple of black strips of cardstock before adhering the panel to grey cardstock. Addition of black cardstock to the panel brings the black from the sentiment and the black Onyx sequins from Pretty Pink Posh together. I just  LOVE the colour combination.

Friend flat 1

And here is my second card using  the sentiments from The Big, the Bold and Comfort stamp set as the focal point.

Prayers card day 1

Again, I did exactly the same procedure as the previous card except I have made it vintage style.  Sentiment is the focal point which is framed with flowers from another new stamp set which will be previewed day after tomorrow called Abby's Garden. I have coloured the flowers using distress markers, sponged distress ink on the edges then distressed the edges of the panel using scissors before adhering on the cream card base which is sponged with distress inks on the edges as well.

Prayers flat

Do you like The Big and bold series stamp set? Would you like to win them? Then head over to Winnie & Walter Blog for more details.

See you tomorrow for day #2 preview of Winnie & Walter new release.

Runway Inspired Challenge #82

Hello folks,

Today I have a card for Runway Inspired challenge #82. I did not have a chance to share my card on Tuesday when the new challenge went live. So I am sharing with you now as a reminder.
Here is the new challenge.

And this is my take on the challenge.

Birthday wishes card

I love the black and gold on the  dress and also the paint brush stroke on the background.  I tried to incorporate both on my card. I trimmed the black striped pattern paper for my panel. I spattered some gold colour wash on it. For the focal point, I stamped the leaves and flowers from Altenew's Striped Floral stamp set in two different blue hues. Then hand cut out them and glue as a cluster. I have used both liquid glue and foam for added dimension.

Birthday wishes closeup1

The sentiment is from Birthday Greetings stamp set also from Altenew. I stamped, cut the sentiment and attached with foam adhesives.

Birthday wishes closeup

Finally I have added 6mm and 4mm gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to add more gold elements on the card.

Birthday wishes card flat

Curtain Call Challenge Reminder and a farewell!

Hello folks,

Welcome back. I feel as though I haven't been here on a long time. It has been very busy. As of you who follow me on Facebook, you will know I have been renovating a property of mine after tenants trashed it last week. It all happened when it was time for them to vacate and we did not extend the contract. We wanted to see the property because we had not looked at it for a year and we wanted to give a fresh lick of paint. Now, for past two weeks, we as a family has been spending time renovating the property and it has been exhausting. That is why I have been MIA. Most of the work is done now. Only small jobs left. By tomorrow all will be done. It has been a great learning experience for somebody like me who has not done trades. Looks like I can now handle it and learnt some tradie language as well lol!

Anyway, today I have a second and last card for Curtain Call Challenge. There is time still have time to play Curtain Call Challenge - Bouquet sponsored by Penny Black.

Here is my second take on the challenge

I just love you card1

I have used Pretty Petals stamp set from Penny Black to stamp and copic colour. I paired the coloured panel with black and white pattern paper from Beau Jardins pattern paper pad.

I just Love you closeup1

I have accented the card front using Pretty Pink Posh's Sparkly Clear sequins.
Come and play the challenge. there are two prizes from Penny Black to be won.
You have until April 25th at 8:00 AM CDT to be inspired and share your project!

So when I said last card, I meant that I am stepping down from the challenge. I have been in Curtain Call Challenge for past two years. I thought it is time for me to step down and give another talented designer a chance to be on this gorgeous team. I am sad but I had a great time. The team is awesome, Stacey is a great person to work with. Very approachable and flexible. I have been very lucky to work with such wonderful people. Thank you so much Stacey for having me. Love ya!

Sparkle & Shine!

Hello folks,

After more than a week, I finally was able to spend some time in my craft room. Obviously lacking in creativity, I wanted to try a challenge to bring back my mojo. That is when I saw the new Pin - Sights Challenge at Ellen Hutson. I decided to play the challenge because I found it challenging with my lack of creativity.

It is a mood board challenge.

F266caab27787a3e6cad086a2041b5ba

Love the colour combination. But I did not have any bronze paper or embellishments. After searching through my stash, I found bronze Zing sparkly embossing powder. Hooray! I can use it to emboss or make my own embellishements. I decided to emboss the sentiments on vellum cardstock using the Bronze Sparkly embossing powder.

Here is my finished card.

Sparkle & Shine

For the background, I did layered colour wash of Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn distress inks. Then stamped with images from the Bokeh Dots stamp set from Essentials By Ellen in charcoal ink by Hero Arts.

Sparkle & Shine flat

The sentiment is from Hello Gorgeous stamp set also from Essentials by Ellen which I have arranged and bronze heat embossed on vellum cardstock. I trimmed the vellum cardstock, layered with white cardstock and added a tiny peg which I coloured with Charcoal ink.

Sparkle & Shine closeup

Now, I should says after making this card, I did have a few more ideas popping in my head. That is exactly what I wanted. Creativity to start flowing. Such a thrill to have mojo back and thank you to the gorgeous mood board from Ellen Hutson and Laurel. If time permits I will put some of the ideas into paper and share it.

Thanks for stopping by!
