Happy Father's Day!

Moxie Fab World Blog is hosting The Cure for Winter Blues Challenge. 

Cath says, Navy is the trend. Cool! She has so many inspirational photos and cards using Navy on her blog. Head over and have a look. You will be inspired.

 I love Navy but haven't used it much recently. So I pulled out all my navy inks (4 in total!) and sponging tool and here is what that came out of it :)

I basiclly stamped the tree first on a 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch square piece of white cardstock with black ink. Then punch a circle using scrap paper and masked off a bit of tree. Then sponged SU Pacific Point, PTI's Enchanted Evening, SU's Not Quite Navy and finally Black ink. Removed the mask and stamped the dragonfly with black ink.

Stamp sets: Made with Love and Celebrate Everyday from Hero Arts, Father Knows the Best from PTI.

Inks: SU's Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Basic Black. PTI's Enchanted Evening.

ColourQ #114

Hi, Here is ColourQ #114 colors. Aren't they bright and cheerful? Love that snow man image. But there is a twist to this challenge- Make anything but a card :)

 While I read the twist, I completely forgot about it when crafting and created a card but then my brain remembered! Aha! the twist-no card lol! So I made a tag to match the card. Here is the tag first.

 

  I used Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits and Boy Basics-Out of this World stamp sets to create the tag and the card. The dies are also from Papertrey Ink. I chose to use the neutrals as the base colours and the red, blue and green colors from the colour palatte for the hot air balloon :) The ribbon is from SU. Here is both the card and the tag as a set.

I love the 3D hot air balloon and how the colours pop out of the kraft background.

Masculine cards...

Hi everybody,
I am woken up again by my puppy at 4.30 am and we went for a long walk and just came back. Since rest of them are still sleeping, I can write up this post and share my cards. I made very clean and simple masculine cards yesterday. Here they are.

I found these pattern papers at a local shop and they were of travel theme. I love it because they are distressed. Perfect for masculine cards. Masculine Motifs from Papertrey Ink came to my mind when I ran through the papers and saw these two sheets. I came home and quickly made these cards before my idea is pushed back deep into my sub-conscience lol! Anyway, enjoy the cards and have a great day!

I am going to try Make It Monday - stamping background using sentiment stamps :) My desk is ready to go but first wake, prepare and send kids and hubby to school and work.

One more....

frame to share with you. This is another boy's frame but for a tween or teen.

All the products used in this project are from Papertrey Ink except the frame, versamark and embossing powder. I love doing up frames. I still have couple of Green frames and I bought 2 gorgeous glossy red frames today :) These will probably be dressed up for Christmas. So this not the last frame I will be sharing.

Today was the second hot day. Temperature went above 35 degree celsius again with a bit of wind too.  Felt like a furnace outside. Hope it cools a bit tomorrow. We all had  a good play and soak this evening on the lawn with water hose and sprinklers. Charlie loved all the sprinklers and kept running from one to another lol! All of us are now ready for dinner. Chapati and sabji... Yum!  I am hungry!

Masculine cards

I have three masculine  cards to share that I had made yesterday. These are made using Papertrey Ink Masculine stamps released in month of April. Here are the cards for you.

Have you seen all of them previously? I CASEd Nicole Heady's cards shamelessly. I loved her cards so much that I had to CASE them. You can find Nichole's card here. Its not a full CASE. I have changed the colors and stamp set to my liking but the layout is still the same :) Hope you like my version too :)
Its a very cold Saturday morning for me. Saturdays are very busy and on the top of that, I have a sore throat and body ache. Hopefully I don't fall sick because it a long weekend for us and have planned a few things to do. Ok I cannot sit for long as my back is aching.

Birthday card for tween!!!

My DS has his friend's birthday party this Saturday and this gave me chance to make a birthday card for a tween boy. I also got a chance to use PTI's Make it Monday technique challenges on the card. Here is my card.

I have used cardstock, ink and brads from Stampin' Up!, pattern apper from Basic Grey and Bo Bunny, Stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink and lace trim from Kaisercraft.

I also used Make It Monday techniques of  sponging using die negatives, distressing, inking the edges all in one :)

I love how the card turned out. Gorgeous colors and distressing. Hope the boy likes it. My son loved it and is sure his friend will like it too :)

Embellish Masculine Challenge

Masculine card! Thats always a challenge for me. I have a tween son and making a card for him is just so difficult. I start to make a card for him and end up making a baby boy card. Well, he is my baby but.... lol! Hard for a mom to accept her baby is all growing up to be a teen now :)  

Anyway,my son plays guitar and I searched and bought a couple " boy playing guitar"stamps. And when I saw Embellish's Masculine challenge, I jumped  at  the opportunity and actually made a card for my tween son. Here is my card.

I have used stamps from Inkadinkado, Papertrey Ink and Stampin' Up!, cardstock from Stampin' Up!, Martha Stewart's border punch, PTI's music impression plate, Edge distressor, Tim Holtz's Frayed Burlap distress ink and linen thread from SU. I have embossed the main image and stamped the rest of the image with Basic Gray ink from SU. The camera charm is from my stash.

Truly masculine! don't you think? I like how it turned up:)

Turquoise with Kraft and White

This week's CAS challenge at Splitcoast stampers is a color challenge- Turquoise with Kraft and White. It is a soft and delicate color combination.  Also Heather Nicholes has demonstrated a technique on her blog using craft ink and impression plates. Here is the link-- Click here. I so wanted to try that technique and use CAS color combiantion to make a card. This is what I came up with!

Father's day is around the corner. So I ended up making a father's day card for my son to give my husband!
I like how it turned out. Did you see the alphebet impression the Hawaiian Shores cardstock? Thats the technique Heather showed on her blog. I also tried the technique on black cardstock. It gives a chalk board effect. Absolutely fabulous. I will use the black cardstock and make another father's day card. Will share it with you tomorrow!
