Sasya Sketch #31

I am sharing a card I made using Sasya Sketch #31 with you today. This is the first time I am using their sketch. I like this sketch  because of the cluster elements. Looks more like a layout sketch and therefore its a challenge for me to use it and make a card. Here is the sketch for you.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I opened my old scrapbooking stash I had boxed and kept aside. I am so happy I did it. I was able to use the flourish die cuts on this card. It was like a hidden treasure. There are lots of stuff I have that I had completely forgotton about. I felt like a child opening her toy box-- wide open eyes, a big grin and excited... lol!

I am happy with how my card turned out. The designer paper is from Pink Paislee, flowers from Prima Marketing, leaves from SU, rhinestones from Kaisercraft, panels using Spellbinder nestabilities dies and stamped image & sentiment from PTI.

Thanks for a fabulous sketch. Love it:)  And thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!

Verve stamp World Card Making Day Challenge #1

I found Verve Stamp challenges for World Card Making Day yesterday. There are 5 lovely sketches by the way. No need to use Verve stamps. So if you are interested in participating, then check it out here.
Here is the first sketch

Here is my take on the first sketch.

I have used felt trees  for the two long elements and a small sentiment panel for the square element. Added texture on the background by embossing and inking lightly. I also added tiny snowflakes to the textured background.Looks cute isn't it?  Buttons as ornament on the tree. And a ribbon to tie it all together. I took the  unconventional approach of using the sketch. Hope its ok!

Supplies;
Cardstock: PTI's Scarlet Jewel
DSP: Kaisercraft
Stamp set: PTI's Christmas Signature Greetings and Places Please
Accessories: SU's Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Colorbox rustic inks, PTi's Scarlet jewel ribbon, SU's tag die, SU's wide oval punch, PTI's Vintage Autumn mix buttons and thread from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by. If I have some time tonight I can make use of another sketch and make a card. The sketches are lovely.

Cheers!

CAS #110

Yay! Monday! Love weekday. Atleast there is somewhere to go on weekdays. After 2 weeks of  staying at home nursing the rest of the family with cold and flu, I want to go out and breath fresh air. I was the only one at home who escaped flu and cold. But atleast all are recovering and feeling better now!
Anyway, I made a card using CAS sketch #110 on the weekend.
Here is the sketch for you.

Here is my take on the sketch....

Hehe! another Christmas card! For those of you who are visiting my blog for the first time, I have to say that I got a bit panicky about mass producing christmas cards last week. And I had a few posts of only christmas cards. You can check them out here and here and here.

In this sketch I loved the center long panel. I enjoyed stamping on the panel as you can see. Decided to use the sentiment stamp as a background and used the ornament as the focal point. Lots of bling for the festivity and ta da... its done.lol! Just excited thats all!
Thanks for an awesome sketch week after week. I missed a few but now I am back again.
Have a great week! I am definitely going out today and having fun today...
See ya soon...
Cheers!

JAI #37

A nice Sunday. I was surfing the web today and found this card by Dawn  Olchefske on SCS. Such a gorgeous card. I love how Dawn used the clear block and got the shadow frame. Very clever. She has a video on how she made it on her blog.
I wanted to give it a go and used JAI #37 color challenge to do mine. Here are the colors of the challenge.

Here is my take...

I don't have SU's Always Artichoke ink or paper with me. But I had the marker pen. I painted my clear block with Always Artichoke maker pen to get the shadow frame. But that did not work out. All it did was to give a very rustic effect on the Confetti Cream cardstock. I decided to use the effect anyway. All the background stamping are second generation and third generation stamping using Always Artichoke marker pen, Pumpkin Pie,Old Olive, Rose Red inks and SU's Extreme Element stamp set and PTI's Leaf Prints stamp set. The edges are distressed and inked  using the same colors.
The leaves are cut using PTI's  Leaf Print dies and stamped using PTI's Leaf Print Stamps with Always Artichoke marker pen  and Pumpkin Pie ink. The flower is made using Butterfly punch punched out of Confetti White cardstock, which are inked using Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie inks, layered and secured with an antique brad. The sentiment is from PTI's Embellishements stamp set.
Not what I expected it to be when I started making it. I wanted to keep it simple but I got carried away while making it. I did not get the shadow frame effect using the clear block. But loved the rustic effect it created. I like the card a lot. Its so different. No patternpaper used. Just inks and stamps with white and cream paper. Thanks Dawn Olchefske for the inspiration and thanks JAI for the colors.

Have a great weekend!
Cheers!

More Christmas cards...

I have more Christmas card today.  I have gone for different colors.
I love this layout. Simple and easy for mass producing. Here are the cards.

I love PTI's Scarlet Jewel color and I stamped them SU's En Francis stamp with SU Bravo Burgundy ink and inked the edges with the same. Love SU's Elegant Lines embossing folder on PTI's Spring Moss cardstock. The ornament stamps are from Kaisercraft stamped using SU's Bravo Burgundy ink on PTI's Mat stack 3 diecut. What do you think? I like them. I am planning to make more using this layout but with different colors, different embossing folders and different stamps. I am happy now that I have found a layout/sketch. Now I have to start cutting and stamping and assembling them :)

Now I am not panicky anymore about making Christmas cards. What a relief! Maybe I can participate in challenges. Happy Cardmaking Day!
Will be back soon with more....
Cheers!
