4 Days to My Favorite Things New Release

This is my second post for today. Here is my first post I did for today.

Four more days to go till the release. Yay! Welome back to another new release countdown.

NewReleaseCountdown_Day4

Today I have three cards to share. The first one is using Sunny Day Doodles Borders and Accents stamp set. I love Sunny Day Doodles stamp sets previously released. And this new set Borders and Accents coordinates perfectly well with the previous doodle sets. That is what I have done on my card here below.

MFT GDT Feb2014 Day #4

I went for a doodle journalling style on my card front. I bent the border stamp and stamped on either side and added accents from the new stamp set on the alternate sides. This made a frame. I then stamped Sunny Days Doodle Love It stamp inside the frame and stamped couple of hearts from the new Borders and Accents.  I have used watercolour paper and Archival jet Black Ink to stamp all the images. I then coloured using Distress Markers and watercolour brush adding shading between layers of colour. It looks absolutely fantastic after colouring. Then I added some shimmer to the hearts and words using Wink of Stella pen. Here is a closeup.

MFT GDT Feb2014 Day #4

Such a beautiful one layer card. Needs no accents or embellishments. You can also do art journal using these doodle sets. I love love these sets and will see me use them more often.

Next I am sharing two cards using Sail Boat and Making Waves die-namics.
 Here is my first card.

MFT GDT Feb2014 Day #4

I used vellum cardstock to make my waves. I first inked the vellum cardstock with blue ink, dried with heat gun. I wiped away excess ink from the vellum cardstock. It is easier to handle without the ink on your hands or on the card front. Then die cut the waves. I also heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of vellum. The waves are then layered on the bottom of the card front. with the sentiment strip on the bottom. I used glossy accent to adhere my vellum. I liked it when the vellum warped a little because it added dimension and looked like waves were real. I die cut the Sail Boat Die-namics using wood veneer for the boat and pole, red cardstock for the sails and flag. Assembled them as shown.  Finally I added some silver stars and enamel dots as accent. Here is a close up.

MFT GDT Feb2014 Day #4

This is a second card I made using the Sail Boat Die-namics and Waves Die-namics.

MFT GDT Feb2014 Day #4

For the waves, I die cut using blue cardstock, then sponged some darker blue ink to add shading and  spattered with plain water. I then layered the waves. For the sky, I blended some distress inks. I die cut the boat and pole in a darker wood veneer paper and the sail using water colour paper. The water colour paper gave me the canvas texture and I was able to flex and bend the paper by adding water to the paper.
I am totally in love with the Sail Boat and Waves Die-namics. I LOVE nautical theme. And this release gives you everything you want for the nautical theme. Hope you like my projects today.
