Elite Challenge Cards

Hi everybody,

While I am waiting for the lady who is to inspect my house to arrive, I thought I will blog. I wanted to show you couple of cards I made for Elite challenge blog. This one below is for the stamp set challenge. The stamp set to use is from the sale-a-bration catalogue called Vintage labels. A cute set of labels

I have used Mellow Moss, Kraft and Confetti White cardstock with Sweet Slumber Speciality DSP.Apart from Vintage Label stamp set, I have used Weathered background stamp and Frends 24-7. I used white gel pen to color the flowers. What an effect? the entire image just poped out. Don't you think so?

This card below is for the sketch challenge at Elite Challenge Blog.
I used nestabilities label set and sponged Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the image using Stazon. Colored the flowers with markers and rhinestones on centre.

There is the color challenge left called "Point Taken" but it is a real challenge to use those colors. Real tough! Atleast for me! I am still wondering how I am going to use them together. Anyway, I still have time to think as the lady has not yet arrived. I am starting to get hungry.
Aww! thanks Nikki for your wishes. We had a lovely dinner and the resturant did organise a complimentary champagne and special desert with sparklers as a surprise. Thats was just awesome yesterday. Never had any surprises like that before.
I think I better get going to cook lunch.
See you soon. Until then.......

Happy Anniversary to me!

Yes! today is my wedding anniversary. Gosh! its been 12 years since I have been married. And I am happily married to my dear husband. Been a very special day today. And going out to dinner tonight. Wow! its been a while since we went out for dinner by ourselves. It will be strange but nice too!

I do not have any cards to show as I have been super busy since the school started. After school activities have increased tremendously. Aditi has started horse riding lessons and Siddarth martial arts. Thats leaves us with just Wednesday free in the entire week and Sunday on the weekends. 2 days of swimming, one day of horse riding and martial arts and one day for music and Saturday for music theory lessons. And I have started going to gym as well. Its exhausting but I am loving it. Great to feel occupied and feel busy. Especially after  boring hot school holidays. Tomorrow is house inspection and I am cleaning madly today. In the evening I have parents meetings for both my children. I think I have write everything on papers and stick them all over over the house. Anyway, hope I have some time on thursday to make cards.
Got to go now! Cook dinner and get kids to eat dinner before we leave for dinner.
Have a great day!

Color Challenge

Hi Everybody

We, Stampin' Up! demonstrators at Art with Heart group under Claire Daly have some challenge every month on our forum. In this month's color challenge, Miriam (my upline) has provided pictures from where we draw our colors to make the card/scrapbook page/3-D.Here is the inspirational picture.
Isn't this kitchen just beautiful? I want one like this one. Maybe not the teal color but love the island bench, the white cabinets with timber table top, the lighting and the wooden beams on the ceiling are all just awesome.Have printed it out and glued it on my scrapbook. I have a scrapbook of all interesting colors, designs, furnitures, ideas for my new house. I am hoping I can get atleast 40% of  ideas incorporated into my house. Anyways, here is my take on the challenge.

Any a close up of the thinking birdie

I recently bought this stamp set called "Friends 24-7" because I wanted he damask stamp but the entire set is a beautiful set and a must have according to me. I don't know why I did not get the set long time ago! Silly me! Here is the close up of the stamped background I created using the damask stamp from this set and the spray stamp from "Bird on the branch" set. I think doing the background adds interest to the card.

Hope you like the card. I have Aditi's friend over for play at home and they along with Siddarth have just started throwing LEGO pieces across the room. Got to go and get them to stop throwing! I hate Lego pieces everywhere. They hurt my feet when I accidently step on them. Ouch!
Have a great evening!

Emboss resist

Emboss resist is a simple but very effective technique. Sponging color just pops the embossed image.
Here is the card I made using the technique.

Here is a close up showing the technique.

I have used Blooming Button Bits, Say it with Style, Text Style and Top Ten stamp sets to make this card. Sponged Berry Sorbet and Rasberry Fizz. CS used are Kraft, Sweet Blush, New Leaf, Dark Chocolate and SU's Confetti White.
I really liked doing the background and then embossing the image and then sponging color. The text background is a nice touch. Hope you like the card!
Thanks for the video and a cool challenge, Nicole!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Compose a Card Challenge #2

Every Tuesday, Becky Oehlers has this Compose a card challenge. This week its a pretty flower card with buttons. Here is her recipe and inspirational photo.

I love the yellow and white combo. Its a nice springy and pretty card recipe.
Here is my take on the challenge. My five petal punch just arrived from Stampin' Up! and I used the punch immediately. lol! Love the layers and the colors.

By myself I will not attempt to make such cards. I don't know why? But maybe I should start making pretty flowery card, because I like them. Will be perfect for little girls.
Thanks for an awesome challenge. Looking forward to the next one.

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #17

Hi everybody,

Makeesha's Inkspiration inspiration challenge #17 is a bit of a challenge for me!  Earthy colors are my favourate but it just did not come to me today! Maybe my mojo for earthy colors have left me today. But, I do not like to leave half done card and come back to it later.I wanted to complete it and I did. Here is the inspiration picture.

I liked the twigs and the rustic brown against the white in the picture. So I tried to recreate that on my card.
Here is my card.

I brought the twigs into the card through the chip board which is inked in brown colors. Similarly the music paper is inked with brown colors and the edges are ripped. This brought that warm rustic feeling, I think! More country like? Infact, I have used cardstock from the "naturals" pack from Stampin' Up! Anyway, I like the end result. Thanks for another challenge. And thanks for stopping by

Blue, Silver and White

Hi everybody,

Here is another color combination I loooove. Its Blue, Silver and white.I saw a blue damask on silver gift wrap paper in one of the stores in Perth and I just loved it. I couldn't take the picture of it as I did not have the camera with me! But I wanted to recreate it on the card. I did take a picture of it on my head.
Here is what I came up with!

I used SU silver paper and Kaisercraft Christmas stamps to create the background. I have embossed the damask images using Tempting Turquoise ink and clear embossing powder for texture In the second card, I have added Dazzling Diamonds for sparkle. The photos do not show the shimmery silver paper and the texture very well! But in real it is so beautiful. I have used stamps from PTI, Stampin' Up! and Kaisercraft. Cardstock and accessories from Stampin' Up!
I have another combination I loove, which I will share with you in this week. Now that kids have gone to school and I have some free time at home in the afternoons, I am going to try out some color combinations.
Until next time, have a great day!
