Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Woohoo! Today is the day! Taylored Expressions October new release is here!

Ten new stamp sets, thirty two new dies, two embossing folders and a matched collection are all now available for purchase from Taylored Expressions store.

Today I am sharing with you couple of cards using Eventful - Night Before Christmas die!

This is a versatile die to use with many techniques such as watercolouring, layering, sponging, creating a scene to name a few. I have used watercolouring and layering technique on one card and sponging and creating a scene on my second card.

Here is my first card.

Happy Holidays card

On this card, I started with die cutting the Eventful: Night Before Christmas die using watercolour cardstock, and used Zig watercolour pens to randomly watercolour the trees and building in green and reddish pink. I let them dry then layered glued them on a white cardstock panel. The frame is die cut using the new Picture Perfect - Vertical die using black glitter paper. I foam adhered this frame on the cardstock layered with Night Before Christmas die cuts. Trimmed off the excess all on sides. I then adhered this on a white card base. I them embellished the card with sequins from the new Build A Scene: Christmas sequins. Love the soft watercolour on the die cuts and the contrast against the black glitter frame.

On my second card, I sponged the background and created a night before Christmas scene.

Gayatri Murali TE October releasecard #1 (2)

This card is more traditional I would say. I started with sponging Mustard Seed and Fossilised Amber  distress inks towards the bottom of the card front. Then blended with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire distress inks on the top. Love the bit of green in the blended area. Looks like an aurora in the sky. :) I die cut the Eventful: Night Before Christmas die in black and adhered towards the bottom of the card front. I then added Liquid Applique to the top of the houses and trees to get the 3D snow effect on them.

I die cut the Little Bits - Snowflakes Confetti using white glitter paper and randomly adhered on the sponged background. I also added some white sequins from Build A Scene: Christmas sequins. Then stamped the sentiment from In & Out Christmas stamp set in black and clear embossed the sentiment.
