Watercoloured Christmas Card

I played with a rubber stamp today. Ah shocking! But this is a gorgeous set from Penny Black called Festive Floral. Here is the stamp set for you.

Festive Florals

I absolutely love the flower on the holly branch image. The image is big enough to either be the focal of the card or can be stamped multiple times to create a gorgeous background. I have used the image as a focal point on my card below.

I heat embossed the image on water colour paper. Then watercoloured the image. Once dry I watercoloured the background. I added purple first and then layered with a bit of grey to add shadow and depth around the flowers.

The sentiment is also from Penny Black. It is from a die set called Joyous Wishes 

I simply die cut the "Merry Christmas" using gold foil cardstock and glued on the watercoloured panel. Here is a closeup!

I am really enjoying watercolouring now a days. I love the uncertainty of how it will look when dry. Plus the soft look watercolour gives is just beautiful. This stamp set is great for watercolouring. Hope you are inspired by my card.
