CASE study #198

Helloooo my dear friends.

Welcome to a new CASE Study Challenge. We have a new designer muse this month. Did you happen to guess who it was from the sneak peek? Yes! You are correct -  the very talented and gorgeous Shari Carroll. I adore her work whether it is her cards, or colour coordinate videos on SSS or her journal pages. Her work is a great source of inspiration to me and I am a HUGE fan of her. How lucky are we to CASE Shari's cards? Yay! I am thrilled :)
So here is the first muse card from Shari. Here is the link to this card on her blog.

What a beautiful background? I really love the grey and white. It give a neutral but subtle textural background to work with. I am no pro working with sprays. So I opted for sponging for my background. Here is my CASE card.

remember this card 1

I have used Funky Floral stencil from MFT and Fog ink from Simon Says Stamps to sponge my background. I love love this background. The rest of are stickers from Dear Lizzy collection from American Craft. No card of mine are complete with Pretty Pink Posh's sequins. So I do have some beautiful colour sequins to accent my card. No stamping on this card at all. Very happy with my CASE on Shari's card.

Come and play along with us.

Winnie & Walter Share the Love Week - Resist technique using Distress Inks.

Welcome to Winnie & Walter's Share the Love featuring Distress Inks day #3

Today I am showcasing resist technique using distress inks.
Here is my card first.

You are amazing card

For this card I have white heat embossed "Hello" stamp from The Big, the Bold and Happy stamp set at an angle. I then sponged distress inks, Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemon. Wiped with a damp cloth to remove distress inks on the embossed sentiment. I stamped the smaller sentiments using black ink. Trimmed the panel and glued to the card front to which I had added black glitter tape. I then die cut a tag using Wplus9 tag set, stamped the rest of the sentiment from The Big, the Bold and You stamp set, added a bow with sequins at the centre. This tag is foam mounted on the card front. Simple layout but the resist technique with the colours from distress inks makes an impact.

Winnie & Walter Share the Love Week - Ombre with Distress Ink

Third post for today. Here is my Curtain Call Inspirational Challenge post. And here is my Runaway Inspired Challenge post.

Welcome to Winnie & Walter Share the Love Day #2 featuring Distress Inks.

Today we are doing Ombre with distress inks. And I have two cards for you to showcase ombre using distress ink. Here is my first card.

Always shine bright

I have used Squeezed Lemon, Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutter, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord distress inks on my card here. I didn't think of how many distress inks I used while making the card but writing them down, it it a LOT! lol! I sponged them individually on to 2" x 4" white cardstock except Dusty Concord which I sponged to the top of the card base. Then used the fantastic curved stitched die from Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Border die I to cut the sponged cardstock at various angles. I then assembled and glued them on the card front. The stitched detail on the die adds gorgeous detail and texture to the rainbow layers. I stamped the large sentiment from The Big, the Bold and Fun stamp set from Winnie & Walter on a scrap piece of cardstock using black ink, then cut it out. I foam adhered this large sentiment on the centre of the card front. I then stamped the rectangle outline stamp from Scenery: Rectangled and Triangled stamp set on scrap white cardstock, stamped the smaller sentiments inside the stamped rectangle. Cut them out and mounted using foam adhesive. Finally added some 6mm and 4mm Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I love how the rainbow ombre and sequins accent coordinates with the sentiment.

Here is my second card.

Thanks so much

I have done something similar here using the curved stitched die from Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Border dies I. Here I have done one colour ombre. I used the pinks this time - Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose. I stamped the sentiment along the curve and added some gorgeous Orchid, Peonies, Pink Blush and Sparkly Clear 6mm and 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from The Big, the Bold and You stamp set from Winnie & Walter.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Birthday Bash

If you are looking for my Runaway Inspired Challenge post, CLICK HERE!

Hey everybody,

Welcome to a brand new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.
This new challenge is called Birthday Bash. Here is the inspirational picture for you.

We have an awesome new sponsor, Top Dog Dies, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Birthday Bash!  The designers received some fabulous Tog Dog Dies to work with for this challenge...such a quality product!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive a prize from Top Dog Dies!

Here is my take on the challenge.

wishing you snappy birthday

I have used a few stamp sets and dies from My Favorite Things on my card because I am still waiting for the Top Dog dies to arrive. I cannot wait for them to arrive and play with them. When I do I will try and get another card for you. For this card, I have used Sentiment from Picture This stamp set and white heat embossed on white cardstock panel. I then used brush stroke  stamp from Abstract Art and picked the colours from the inspirational picture and stamped over the embossed image. I then realised there is a little space on the bottom. so I stamped the sentiment smile. To add the elements, I diecut the smallest polaroid frame from Polaroid die also from MFT in black, layered with a cute camera diecut which is diecut and sponged with inks. Then I added some tiny heart shaped wood veneers which I coloured in the same colours from the inspirational picture. That one rounded corner is a nice touch I think on the hot pink base. So I have used the colours from the inspirational picture and the title of the challenge as the sentiment on my card.
Check out the Curtain Call Crew's projects on the challenge. They have used some fantastic Top Dog dies on their projects. Here is the list.

Runaway Inspired Challenge #63

It is time to share another Runaway Inspired Challenge with you.

This is one chic dress. I love the floral pattern on the dress. I see them a lot on clothing now a days. Very on trend. I also love the black stripes on the dress and lots of white spaces. So my card is inspired by all of them.

Happy Birthday

I really love the Painted Flowers stamp set from Altenew. Love the shading and beautiful hand drawn outline. I stamped the flowers diagonally on the white card stock using the colours from the floral pattern on the dress. How pretty are those flowers? LOVE! I then trimmed the panel such that I made a gap showing the black glitter behind. I used the same glitter tape to add another strip under the sentiment strip. Finally accented with the ever gorgeous Cobalt sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Check out Runaway Inspired Challenge Blog to see how the rest of the designers interpreted the challenge. Now it is your turn to play along. Cannot wait to see what you do :)

Thanks for stopping by!
