Evening everybody,

I am a bad blogger. I promised to load another stationary box yesterday and I got busy.
And its already evening today. Oh! its been very busy. Aditi went back to school today and I was on the phone to fix a lot of things. And I hate being put on hold and the radio blasting from the other end. Thats "the" test of patience I think!!! I had to hold for 3 such call over 15 minutes. B***** frustrating!!!

Anyway, without any further delay, here they are for you.

I have used Bazzill Black cardstock and Rosa Moka paper, Basic Grey Lime Ricky stickers, Pom pom ribbons, Stampin' Up! lovely as a tree stamp set, Stampin' Up! embossing powder and heat gun.I loved making these stationary boxes. Very cute and functional as well.
My next project is making travelling suitcase.

Oh!, the August Card sketch will be up in my sketch blog tomorrow along with the winner for July. Check it out and see if you can have a go at it.

OK see ya after the weekend.

Aussie Pub calls kits

Hey everybody,

You all know I am part of Aussie Pub Calls creative team member.
I have also been telling you about the kits available from Aussie Pub Calls.
Here is the sneak peek of the August kit. I made a card which was inspired by KWerner's Diagonal Rays with pattern paper card. I like the diagonal rays with multiple pattern paper. In this card below, you can see all the papers available in the August kit.

Isn't this beautiful? Here is the link to the KWerner's video.
If you find it interesting, then give it a go.

And how do you like the new blog dress? Aditi is at home down with fever and we amused ourselves with doing up the blog. Actually, she wanted to do a blinkie but we ended up finding this blog called Shabbyblog and ended up downloading free stuff and dressing up my blog.
Heaps of fun. Some paracetamol is keeping Aditi stay out of fever and bodyaches. Hoping she will recover soon.

I made another stationary box. Will load it later today.
Ok, see you later in the evening.

Stationary Box for the teacher

Afternoon everybody,

Last evening my son came home very happy, he had played guitar in front of his class and it went very well. He also told me that his teacher celebrated her birthday on 26th Sunday. He wanted to give her a card. So I made one and then forgot to take a photograph. Silly me. Anyway, I also made this stationary ,which I was thinking to make for a very long time. I made it watching "Spooks" on ABC.
Here are the pictures

I have used Basic Black card stock, Bella Rose DSP, Upsy Daisy Stamp set, Oval All stamp set from the new mini catalogue, Baroque Motifs stamp set, black embossing powder, tab punch, corner punch, ribbon and heat gun. All from Stampin' Up!

The teacher liked it so much. She displayed it on her desk. I am glad she liked it.
Think will make one more using a different DSP and share it with you.

I had a great weekend!!!

Hey everybody,

Monday morning! we drove back from Perth last night. we were not sure if we would make it to Perth on the weekend. After a cancellation of a workshop on friday night, we decided we will just go. So packed everything in a hurry and then just drove down on friday. We are so happy we went.We had the most amazing weekend.
First of all, I got to meet my friends from Challenge Chics. Lisa had come from Gold Coast to Perth to see her Aunt and therefore I wanted to meet her. Then I also met the beautiful Chris, the gorgeous Karina and the awesome Sarah. We had lunch and we chatted. Loved it. Wish I had more time with them. I should say, my husband was so kind to come with me and also shepherd the kids while I had fun. So I could not keep them waiting for long. Anyway, look what my friends got me.

They are gorgeous. Thank you so much Chris and Lisa.

And I gave them these.

There are various color 3 x 3 note cards inside these covers. Now, the " JUST FOR YOU" stamp on the top of the sets are from the new mini catalogue. I have used the scalloped punch that coordinate with the stamp here too to give the 3D effect.
Aren't they perfect. there are more gorgeous sets available in the New Mini. watch out for the New Mini catalogue on August 1st.

On saturday evening, we met more friends and had an awesome time with them, eating yummy food. we went to a resturant and we were 18 of us. Imagine the noise level from our table.
On Sunday, we drove to meet the parents of a medical student who was in Kalgoorlie on her elective. They have a farm and OMG! I really fell in love with the place. So much space!!! Plenty of garden. Her father loves gardening and he has planted to many fruit trees and veggie patch. Such a lovely family, Siddarth had a ride on the mawing tractor and did not want to let go of it. Aditi was running wild with two dogs and jumping on the trampline. They had so much fun. Of course, we had another lovely home cooked food. Talked so much.
Then off to do another work and to indian shop, loaded our car with groceries and drove back home. Such an awesome trip. we are so glad we made it. we look forward to these short trips.
Now back home with a suitcase of clothes to wash and a house to clean. But such is life.

Thanks for stopping by and reading to my long weekend story.

Stampin' Up! shares....

Hey everybody,

How are you all? I feel fine with the school reopening and able to do the errands by myself.Infact, I was able to shape my eyebrows. OMG, you should have had a look at me last week. I felt like a Lion!!! overgrown eyebrows and my hair all curled up because of the rain.lol!!!!
Anyway, I ahve been making a few stuff. I am meeting some of my friends from Challenge chic and I have made them some suprises. Can't show them now. Definitely next week.

But here is what I made for a little girl who is leaving Kal. Aditi wnted to give her some chocolates and so I made the Box in a bag using Bella Rose paper. I used Tart and Tangy and Best yet stamp sets. That little girl loved the bag more than the chocolates in side.

This is a card I made using scalloped square punch on the Punches three stamp set.

Pattern paper is from Creative Imaginations and Ribbon, ink and cardstock is from Stampin' Up!

I have a monthly card sketch competition running in my sketches blog. If you are interested, drop into my sketch blog from the link on the right side and give it a go.

Some Kaisercraft cards

Hey everybody,

Its Friday already! This week passed by really fast for me.I think the flu consumed most of the week. Thanksfully it wasn't swine flu. But until the results were known, we had to stay indoors. That was for just 4 days. Gosh!!! how much restricted I felt. almost claustrophobic!!! But now we are no longer housebound. Not that we are going out often but still!!!
3 more days to school start, Yay!!!Once school starts, its going to be very busy. But it will be more organsed and less chaotic. I did not realise, how much I like to have schedule and balance. I have so many errands to run, need to go to travel agents to get quotes and also plan for my overseas trip in October. Before that I need to know when we can move into the bigger house, so that I can start packing. Most importantly, I have to get my eyebrows shaped and hair trimmed.

Today, I started making layouts again, for a DT call. I completed them but I also sat to make cards using the rest of the papers. Typical me!lol!!
Here are the cards I made using the Kaisercraft Q1 Duchess collection

I love the colors of this collection. And the vintage look of it. I have used Kaiser craft cards as the base and Stampin' Up! stamps, ribbons and inks.
I cannot show the layout as yet. But will load them when I can.

Thanks for stopping by

Kids are getting sick of holidays and are desparate to go back to school. 6 more days to school though! Weather is cold and miserable. No sunshine at all. House feels damp.Night temperatures are 3 degrees. Can't wait for spring and sunshine.

Anyway, I have a Stampin' Up! demo coming soon and I have been preparing for it. I printed out 'my wish list' sheets and cut them out and I wanted to make a holder to hold them rather than just giving it out So this is what I came up with

Materials used:

CS: Basic Black
DSP: Bella Rose
Stamp set: Oval All
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Tools and accessories: Oval punch, Scalloped oval punch and 4 pink brads

My second project was inspired by Lemon and Ginger tea bag packets.I looooooooove the lemon and ginger tea and while making them, I was reading through the packet and got the idea to make teabag holder. Took the measurements from the packet and made this Teabag holder

Isn't it cute? I love it. I will have to figure out how to attach it to a card.

Materials used here:

CS: Basic Black
DSP: Bella Rose
Stamp set: Circus Circle
Tools and accessories: Tag punch, scalloped circle punch, clear embossing powder, heat gun and green brad.

I am loving making these little things. They cute and fun too. If you are interested to purchase any of the materials for the above project or just the stamp set. Contact me here

There is a mini catalogue to be released on the 1st of August. As a demonstrator, I have seen it and there are cute stamp set for awesome prices. I have some of the stamp sets and they are so cute and there are stamp set matching the punch. Cool hun!

Fridge magnets

Hey everybody,

Feels like its been long since I blogged. But not really. I did not blog yesterday. That was because I conducted a workshop yesterday at home. We made christmas cards. It was fantastic. Loved the enthusiasm. But I was also tired. So couldn't do anything else because it took the whole day.But I will be conducting more workshops in the coming weeks. Yay!!! I am enjoying it.

Today was a disaster day at the kitchen. this morning when I was cooking, my pressure cooker burst. No one was hurt but it made a mess of my kitchen. Spent 3 hours cleaning the entire kitchen. A lot of work , yeah! a lot of work in the kitchen. All done now. Lunch made and ate as well. lol!!
Because of all the work, I wanted to relax and start preparing for my next stampin' Up! demo. But my preorder from the new mini catalogue came and I wanted to have a play with the new stamps. Couldn't open the box yesterday as I was tired. When I opened the box,I loved the Tart and Tangy stamp set that I had ordered along with them. So I wanted to play with it first. I hit upon the idea of making fridge magnets using these stamps. They will be my door prize for the up coming demo. But I made three more which I will be selling.
Here are all the 4 set.

Here are some closeups.
Here is the Cherry fridge magnet set.

Here is the Strawberry fridge magnet set.

Here is the Apple fridge magnet set

Here is the Orange fridge magnet set

The sets for sale are the Orange, Cherry and Apple fridge magnet set. They are $3.95 each plus postage which will be about $1.10. If you are interested to purchase any of the above set, please contact me here
Will see you all tomorrow. Have a great evening.

For a change.....

Hey everybody,

Today I thought for a change I will post something totally different. No cards, No scrapbooking, No kits, No challenges, No advertisements.....

I am going to post a recipe. Yes! This is a favourite at my home. We are vegetarians and we rely of lentils and pulses for Protein. This recipe is something we make often at home and it goes very well with rice or chapathi or even bread.

Its called CHANNA MASALA. There are a variety of ways to make it but this is how I make it. The best part is you do not have to visit an Indian Shop to buy any of the ingredients. Its all available in Coles or Woolworths. So here is the recipe

Ingredients: (6 serves)

2 x tins of Chickpeas (Chickpeas = Channa)

1 x big onion

2 x tin diced tomatoes ( or you could use 4 to 5 fresh tomatoes or even tomato paste)

1 inch piece of fresh ginger

2 cloves of garlic

1 bunch of coriander leaves

2 table spoons of coriander powder

1 table spoon of cumin seeds and aniseeds each

2 table spoons of chilli powder (if you are not into hot and spicey then you can reduce the amount to 1 tablespoon or even half a tablespoon of chilli powder or try paprika instead)

4 x cloves

1 inch piece of cinnamon stick

3 cloves of cardamon

Couple of bay leaves and star aniseed.

2 -3 table spoon of sunflower oil or 50g of butter (its up to you, I go with the oil)

Salt to taste

Method:

1. Chop the onions into slices and fry lightly with aniseeds with one teaspoon of oil. This brings out the flavour of onions and aniseeds.

2. Now grind this along with the diced tomatoes, ginger, 3/4th bunch of coriander, coriander powder, cumin seeds, cloves, cardamon and chilli powder into a smooth paste without adding water. I grind it into smooth paste because my kids are fussy about chicky pieces of tomatoes and onions. If you like it cuncky then its fine.

3. Now use a heavy bottom vessel over medium heat and add the oil and when hot, add bay leaves, star aniseed and cinnamon. when you start to get their flavour (almost 1 minute), add the paste and fry them till it looses all the moisture and oozes out the oil. Keep stiring. This will take about 15 minutes.

4. While thats happening. open the tins of chickpeas. drain them from the water but keep the water for the broth.

5. Once the paste is fried and you start to see that the oil out, add the chick peas and stir. then slowly add the water and keeps stiring. Now check for the salt. The tinned chickpeas is salted and the water too. So add salt accordingly. You will need about half a tablespoon of salt as we have added the spice. But see how you go.You could add a cup or stock/water as well on top of the water from the chickpeas tin.

6. Now turn the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes till the gravy is thick, Turn the heat off and add the rest of the finely chopped coriander leaves.

Thats it. Yum! the Channa Masala is ready. You can serve it with fresh toasted bread, some finely chopped onions and tomates on top and a squeeze of lemon.

Or you can serve it with hot basmati rice(available in Coles and Woolworths)

Or with hot naan or chapathi (also available in Coles and Woolworths)

I hope you make it and enjoy it.

I am taking some 5 kids to see "Ice Age 3" today. Wish me all the best.

See you later

Hugs
