PDCC #129

Morning everybody,

A quick share today for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #129.
Here is the colour picture

Not only do I love the colour combo but my eyes were drawn towards the pillow. I have seen similar design pillows and cushions in different colours and I have pinned one such cushion on my pinterest's Inspirational board. So I took the pillow as my inspirational and made my card.
Here is my take on the challenge.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White from PTI
Stamp Set: Flower Fusion # 8 from PTI and Big Greetings from MFT
Inks: Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss and Perfect Plum all from Stampin' Up! and Archival Jet Black Ink
Accessories: Rhinestones from Kaisercraft

I inked my arcylic block with Basic Grey and stamped on the white panel. I used the back of the negative image stamp from Flower Fusion #8 and stamped second generation to get the flower base. And then used the positive image of the flower and full ink to stamp the image. I love the texture yet still one layer card except for the rhinestone.

Thanks for visiting :) Have a great week!

CAS-ual Friday #50

Hello everybody,

What a beautiful weekend? Weather is awesome. Cloudy but chilly. A great day to get out and about. That is what I am going to do today and followed by making some changes on my blog.

Well, yesterday's shopping did not go so well. My town strandbag sold out on that particular handbag and the salesperson called other stores to find if there are any but no luck so far. The next restock is in July!!! Oh well, it is not a disaster :) I still have an unused 40% off voucher. Sad to let it lapse:( But I think I saved that 60% for next craft shopping :)

Anyway, here is a card I made for CAS-ual Friday challenge. I tell you, I cannot wait to start designing for them. Just one more week to go :)
 Here is this week's challenge

And here is my take on the challenge

Supplies:
Cardstock: Orange colour card and envelopes from local store.
Stamp sets: Simply Sunflower, Modern Basics and Pretty Peonies from PTI
Inks: Papaya and Grass from Amuse Inks and Cup'o Joe from Hero Arts aand Archival Jet Black Ink
Accesories: Simply Sunflower dies from PTI and sanding block.

This card too has a white core and when you sand the edges, you can see it and give a beautiful subtle border. Love it. I have used CAS-ual Friday sketch from last week to make this card.

Thanks for visiting!
See you soon with a toot and a card :)

Until then... Ta!

Happy Mother's day!

Ever since I bought this set from Wplus9, I have been itching to ink it and make a card.
On the weekend, I managed to do it to make a Mother's day card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: White cardstock from Wplus9
Stamp sets: Mother's Day Bouquet from Wplus9
Inks: Amuse papaya, lime and bermuda. Archival Jet Black Ink
Accessories: Label layers 4 die from Wplus9, rhinestones from Kaisercraft, Pinking Edge die from PTI

Loved to create background using stamps. I love this set. Have you noticed that the colours are pastels? Very unusual for me to use pastels. Love it though. Hope you do too.

I got to go now. Going shopping. Saw a Kardashian bag at Strandbags and I have a 40% voucher with me. I want to see if it is still available at the store. Disadvantage of being in a small town is that nice things sell out and they don't restock :( Will show you the bag it I buy it :)

See yoou soon. Ta!

Ok! Thursday of the week and it is time for another Inspired by Pinterest challenge.

Here is the sketch for you

And here is my take on it.

I love the graphics on the card. Also enjoy using multiple stamp sets on on this card, about five or six stamp sets in all. Very happy with how it turned out.

You are so charming.....

Well, when I saw Lawn Fawn's Critter Ever After set, I instantly knew it has to come home to me. Why? Aditi, my daughter love dragons. She is infact dragon crazy. Has read The Lost Dragon Chronicles and The Eragon series, has made clay models of dragons and now wants to do a course in mythology! lol! I don't know how long this phase is going to last. Previously, it was all about horses :)

Anyway, LF's Critter Ever After is here with me and Aditi couldn't resist colouring the dragon image with the fire out of its mouth :)
So here is a card she made yesterday using the dragon stamp.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Gina K Luxury White and Close to Cocoa from SU
Stamp set: Critters Ever After from Lawn Fawn
Accessories: Circle die from Craft Concepts, Three Hearts punch from SU, rhinestones from stash and Forest Branches Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Aditi did practice her colouring and shading couple of times before she did on the card front. Not perfect but she is very proud of her card. We drew the card sketch together in my sketch book first. Wrote down details and colours before she assembled the card. We had some very good mother daughter conversation and bonding during the making of it. Aditi asked if I can publish her work on my blog and how could I refuse? Am I a proud mother? Of course I am :)

Please leave her some nice comments to boost her confident and motivation to do more :)

Thanks in advance. Until next time....

Orange, Pink and White Graphic

Today, I am free for some reason! Aha! I know why? Because weekend is going to be very busy. Having 4 families over for sunday lunch and I need to get the menu ready by tonight and buy and prepare by tomorrow. So I decided I will not stress too much today. Want a day off to prepare myself for the busy weekend. That means crafting for me. I am trying to submit for another mag call. No mojo flowing there. So I browsed and saw that The Play Date Cafe Challenge #128 has a beautiful colour combination.

I love bright colours and this is perfect to lift my mojo. I thought of doing a tie like that on the picture but I don't like men wearing these colours. So ditched the idea. Next comes flowers but it is too easy. Then comes colour blocking. Great idea but it is easy too. Finally, I decided on doing some masking and sponging based on a clip that came on Better Homes and Gardens last night.
Here is my card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White from PTI
Stamp Set: Super Star from Wplus9
Inks:  Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks and Archival JetBlack Ink
Accessories: Masking tape, Tim Holtz sponging tool.

I used masking tape to mask the edges and randomly in a zig zag manner. Then sponged Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. Then carefully removed the masking tape. The result is this graphic pattern. Just perfect. Love it :)
About this time, my postie also arrived to give me my Wplus9 and MFT packages. I broke opened the  Wplus9 Super Star set and used the sentiment on this card.
I love graphic designs and love how my card turned out. Hope you do too,

Thanks for stopping by!

MIM # 62

Hello everybody,

Gosh! good to be back home. But that means a lot work! Yes, today has been crazy. had to bring Charlie my puppy from Pet Motel, he has diarrohoea. Looks like he missed us a lot. Moreover, our town had thunderstorm yesterday and he did not cope well with other dogs barking. Then lots of washings, shopping for groceries, taking kids to music lessons and on the top of all this, I also had house inspection! So massive cleaning.  All done and dusted now. Have a headache now but atleast all work is done and Charlie is much better.

I had making cards for MIM #62, on my list to do for today. That was one of the reasons why I finished all my other jobs quickly and systematically. Time Mamagement aha! I found some time this afternoon to make my Make It Monday Challenge #62 - Step It Up, Layering. Check it out, Betsy has loads of information in the video. Will definitely be useful.

I picked this sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping blog because I could not play this sketch and it is one of my favourite sketch. I used this sketch as the base for my take on MIM.

Here is my take on the challenge.
This is the first one layer card.

Here is the second card where I added couple of layers.

The final card where I have added more layers and embellishments :)

Here are all the three cards together

I wanted to keep it Clean and Simple yet steping up layers. I think I have achieved it :)
I throughly enjoyed playing this challenge :) Thanks you so much for the challenge and also stopping by! See you soon.

Tears of Joy!

Morning everybody,

Thanks so much for all your wellwishes on my previous post. Seriously I had tears of joy reading all your wishes. My hubby was puzzled when he saw the tears and asked me what happened? I showed him all the comments and he said wow! And gave me a hugs :)

So all excited, I made a card yesterday. There is a bit of a story to tell before I share the card. I am on a holiday. We drove down on Thursday to Rockingham, a town near Perth. Hubby is working while we stroll around the beach and mall. Since we drove, I bought along some cardstocks, stamps, inks, adhesives, all my dies and even scissors. We were half way through the drive, I realised I forgot my cuttlebug :(  Cheez! I never realised how much I am dependent on my cuttlebug and dies? But I was determined to make a card using just inks and stamps. Was a challenge but I did it.
 Here is the card.

Congratulations card

Supplies:
Cardstocks: Gina K Luxury white cardstock
Stamp sets: Congrats and Inside Out Baby from PTI
Inks: Stone Wash and Butter Cup from Hero Arts Mid Tone Shadow Inks

This card is made using CAS-ual Friday Challenge # 48 -  Opposites Attract.

My DT starts in May but I love this challenge theme. So I decided to make a card.
If you like to participate in the challenge then here is the link to the blog.
