Hey there!

Good morning!

Here is a card I made couple of days ago.I discovered two more challenge sites. The first is Color Throw Down and the other is Unscripted sketches. Love them both and this is my first time taking part in those challenges.

Cardstocks: SU's Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss and Blush Blossom
DSP: SU's Bella Rose
Stamps sets: PTI's New Leaf, Take Three Summer and Say it with Style
Inkpads: SU's Chocolate Chip and PTI's Spring Moss
Accessories: SU's Dazzling Diamonds,Matha Stewart's Punch.
I have been looking at the Unscripted sketches for a month now and wanting to do their sketches. Their sketches are beautitul. Finally I managed it. Similarly the Color Throw Challenge site as well. They come up with some exceptional color combos. Thanks for the sketch and the color combination.
I am late for the color challenge but I can still link I think.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like the card!
P.S. I have changed the blog post from "read more" to "full format" as I received a lot of email saying they would prefer to see the post in full when they visit my blog. So back to normal full post appearance on the blog. Thanks for the feedback everybody.

PaperTrey Chicks- Paper Piercing Challenge.

Ok, as said in the previous post, here is a card I made for Papertrey Chicks- Paper Piercing challenge. I am late but atleast I am catching up on the challenges. Here is my card.

This is a color combination I came  upon when I was trying to combine Dark Chocolate with Lemon Tart and Kraft. I wanted a color that will tie them together and stand out. Hawaiian Shores was perfect. The layout was inspired by Heather. P's card here. I have used PTI's Enjoy the ride and A little Argyle stamp sets. the pattern paper is Dawn's Dotti Biscotti. The cardstocks and the button are from PTI, Rhinestones from Kaisercraft The thread from my stash. Thanks for the challenge and also stopping by! Love all your comments. Great motivation for me!
There is sketch challenge on the Papertrey Chicks's blog. You can find the link on the left side bar. Come and play with us.

OK, there will a change of format from next post onwards. No ramblings during project shares. Just the project, the list of material used to make the project, name of the challenge, photo of the sketch/brief description of the challenge, inspired by and a note of thanks. Its going to save me heaps of time. There maybe one or two post of ramblings but not project shares on that post. I am trying to organise myself. I am hoping to get a schedule going for myself especially that school holidays are coming very soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for your patience...

Ok, I am in a "Wanting Change" phase. So instead of changing the position of my furnitures at home, I choose to change my blog background. I generally go into this phase often. My husband comes home to a huge change which he sometimes likes and sometimes not. This time I did not want to shock him.
Therefore adopted to change the blog background and learn how to workout certain feature in the blogger. I started off with changing the blog background. I love the stretch as I can utilize the entire space on the webpage. Then my photos can be big and better. My previous blog background had darker colors. A change to pastel colors was eye pleasing. This blog has great templates. Love it and thank you for the free templates. My husband saw it and then suggested to hide most of my post and add "read more" link so upon clicking, the full post shows up. After some research and learning through browsing, I learned that blogger already had "Jump break" which is easy to use. Not much HTML code change required except a small bit as I am using customised template. That was easy. So my blog must have looked wonky. I sincerely thank you for all your patience today. Please extend your patience tomorrow as well, I still have one more addition on my blog to make. I want to add page numbers towards the end for easy navigation.

I hope you like the changes and hope its not too difficult for you to navigate.Would like to hear your feedback too. Thanks once again!Tomorrow I have two cards to share. So keep visiting :)

JAI #23

Afternoon everybody,
Last week we in Australia had a new Prime Minister!
Wow! And its our first WOMAN Prime Minister - Julia Gillard! It happened all of a sudden in a matter of 2 days! A sudden change in leadership in the labour party and ta da.... new Prime Minister! Although I am happy about the Woman Prime Minister persay! I am totally unhappy about how the change happened all of a sudden and lot of other things which I do not want to discuss here on my blog. Its politics and it stinks!
Anyway, this post has nothing to do about politics.....
but to share my entry for Just Add Ink challenge this week. This week's challenge is to Just Add Pattern Paper!
Here is my takes on the challenge

This tote is made using the box that stamp sets come in. Its a clear box and looks absolutely beautiful. I have a box of these boxes. Never throw them away. I recycle them especially when you need to give somebody a set of cards or tags... its a nice package. Ok, I cut the box in half and lined the inside of the box with pattern paper and attached the ribbons for handles and added a diecut tag in the front. The Tote can hold about 5 cards and envelope. The pattern paper is from old stash. I just like it and its been with me for past two years. The stamps are from PTI including the die for the tag on the front. Rhinestones from Kaisercraft and the ribbon is from SU. And a second one...
Its a little purse I made using Sizzix Die. Amy, my friend was kind enough to let me borrow her die to make this one. I love this pattern paper. Not sure what the name of this pattern paper collection is, as it was from Amy's stash. We have awesome craft and chat sessions at her house once a week. Its so nice to have her as my neighbour as we borrow each other's stuff and chat about various technique... its fun!
The flowers are from SU's Vintage Vogue which I stamped using SU's Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant, handcut and layered with SU's brads. Ribbon is from PTI.
I like open ended challenges as it helps to be more creative and think outside the box. Thanks once again for the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

FTL # 96

Evening everybody, I have a card I made out of Fall to layout Sketch #96. Yesterday, during the blog hop, I liked the Night of Navy ( was it Not Quite Navy?) and Ruby Red color combination, Ted had used for his card.

June PTI Blog Hop

Good morning, Its the 26th Saturday of June 2010 morning for me here. This is my fourth blog hop with PTI.

This month's theme is all about color schemes.

This month we thought it would be fun to focus on COLOR!  We want to see your favorite Papertrey
color schemes put to work.  Be sure to post the color scheme near the top of your post in bold letters so
everyone can collect them to use as a future reference!  With everyone's different takes on
combinations from the Papertrey spectrum, we will surely build an amazing resource that we can all
utilize and fall in love with some new favorite color schemes!
I have two color schemes today.
 Here is the first one

I have choosen bright bold colors for some reason. Thinking back it is dull, wintery and grey here in Australia. Bright colors are stimulating and makes me more cheerful. Here is a set of two cards I made using the colors.

I have used PTI Distressed Stripes stamp set to creat the background for the panel. The frame and sentiment are PTI's Fillable frame #4 which are handcut and the leaves are from PTI's Masculine Motifs.  Dark Chocolate, Stamper's White, Orange Zest and Ripe Avacado cardstocks and the buttons are from PTI. The donut border is from EK success punch and the thread is from my stash. Ink pads are from PTI - Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avacado, Orange Zest except SU's Chocolate Chip ink pad.

Here is the second color scheme.

And the card using the second color scheme.

Materials used are the same as above except PTI's Hawaiian Shore ink pad and cardstock.I have tried to keep the sketch the same for all of the cards to see how different the card looks with different colors or just changing one color. Even with the pink on the last card, I fell it look more boyish card compared to the first two ones. Interesting results.
Anyway, hope like the cards you make note of these color combos. Now I am off to hop to see and take notes of all the other combinations. Happy Hopping!

2S4Y # 55

I managed to do a project using 2S4Y sketch #55 inspite of a shivering cold weather today. Gosh! yesterday was a warm and sunny 19 degrees celsius and today is a cold, cloudy and windy 12 degrees.
Anyway, here is the sketch for you.

Here is my take on the sketch.

Its a gift card holder.I tend to use more birthday cards and gift card holders and so I tend to make more of the same. I have used PTI's Summer Sunrise, Stamper's Select cardstocks and Dawn's Color Couture paper, PTI's fillable Frames #4 stamp set, SU's Chocolate Chip ink and SU's brads.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

JAI #22

Morning, as I said in the last post, I have a card to share for Just Add Ink color challenge. They bring out the unusual color combination I should say. Most of them are challenging for me. I would never even think of combining them.
This week's is one of them. Here are the colors for you.

And here is my take on the color challenge.

As I have not stamped for 4 days in a row, the creative part of my brain seems to have switched off. I just cannot get a sketch out of my mind, or use colors effectively.... So I am not happy with this card but since I have already made it I decided to blog it and enter the challenge as well. Hope you like it!
Cardstocks, punch and inks are from Stampin Up!, stamps are from PTI, Ribbon from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by!

OLW- Flourishes

This week's one layer wednesday challenge is flourishes. Use of flourishes on a card is not new for me. I have used it heaps of time. But I have couple of flourish stamps only.
And I am bored using them. I was also going through my stash to sell and I found some nice rubons. So I have used Kaisercraft's white flourishes and SU white sentiment rubon on a Chocolate Chip cardstock. Its not exactly one layer but looks like one layer : ).  Here is the card for you.
I am sorry for a blurry picture. Its half past eight at night and I just had the time to take the picture and blog this post. If the sun pops up tomorrow then, I will take a picture and replace this one. Also my camera battery is down, so the image is not sharp. Now, I hope I can get this post linked.
I have not stamped over the weekend and it feels like my mojo has left. You could tell, I have nothing to say as well! I tried to make cards today but they did not turn out very good. But they are for some challenges so I will share them tomorrow.
Anyway, I am sleepy at the moment. So going to sleep early. Good night and sleep tight.

Knock Knock....

I have a project today which is a little joke book
I made using the tutorial from Nicole Heady's blog. This project is basically for my son to give as a thank you gift to a nurse at the hospital where my husband works. My son is a stamp collector. During a party he had mentioned to the nurses that he collects stamps. Since then this nurse has been collecting all the stamps from her posts from South Africa and Ireland and giving them to my son. He loves to get stamps from different countries and now had 5 stamp books full. Anyway, he wanted to give a thank you card to her and a gift to her. He is 10 years and  what would a 10 year old give as a thank you gift?  Just then my DD came to me wanting to tell jokes. Ta Da................ a joke book would be lovely!

So google search and found Nicole had a tutorial on her blog. Here is the link to her tutorial. I love the knock knock jokes as they are simple, clean and perfect. She also had a pdf of a few knock knock jokes to download. So it was quick and perfect gift from a 10 year old. Thanks Nicole!
Here is the joke book and the card.

I have used SU's Bashful Blue and Old Olive cardstock, PTI's Kraft cardstock, PTI's Retro background stamp set, Delighful Dahlia and Big Bold Wishes stamp sets, SU's basick ( me being dyslexic!!!) Basic Black and Whisper White stamp set (what was I thinking?) ink pads, PTI's Green Boutique and Pink Pattern pattern paper, PTI's Simply Chartreuse felt, SU's brads,Kaisercraft's rhinestones, SU's dazzling Diamonds and Prima Leaves.
My son loooves this and can't wait to give it. He now wants more of this joke book to give friends!!!lol!

On the life is complicated front, its under control now. I have done a lot of the things on the "to do" list. Feels so much better. The only thing left is tomorrow's music theory exam. All of us are prepared for it.Its time to get it over and done with! Then Sunday is a relaxed day. Hope my husband does not come home saying " Honey! I have invited so and so for lunch (or dinner)!" I don't know about yours, but my husband only tells me at the last minute that he has invited somebody home! Fingers crossed. Garage door is opening. He is back home. Got to go now. Have a great weekend!

Life is complicated...

Morning everbody, How are you all doing? Life is a bit out of control for me at this week.Too many things to do plus the routine cooking, cleaning and organising....Completed kid's classes last evening for this term. Then I have the music theory exam to conduct on Saturday. Tomorrow is my health and technique reassement day at my gym. I am starting to build some muscles but nothing is happening to my core. And my back is starting to ache. So better get a trainer to help me out.Winter cold is adding to it. My limbs are frozen and not working properly. My "to do" list is getting bigger and bigger by the day and my tension is building up too. I can sometimes feel my veins on the side of my head pumping really really fast. So today, I am doing as much as I can provided I get off the computer! I will but before that I have to blog this card I made using fall to layout sketch #94. Here is the sketch for you.

And here is my card.

I have seen couple of the woodgrain and the fern leaves combination cards and I love it. I had to recreate it for myself. So here it is. The cardstocks are Close to Cocoa, Tangerine Tango from SU. White card stock and the leaves, woodgrain and sentiment are from PTI stamp sets. Thanks  for the sketch again.
Thanks for stopping by too.Have a great day!

JAI # 21

Hi everybody,

This week's Just Add Ink's challenge is a sketch. Here is the sketch for you

Beautiful sketch. Love the scalloped circle design. I have interpreted it different. I turned the sketch and used spellbinder label eight dies instead of the semi circle. Moreover I have reduced the size of the semi circle to fit the card. And my card is not a square. Its a regular size card. I have used the colors Coral, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip which is an unusual combination for me. Without further delay, here is the card.

The base card is Kraft. The SU's Chocolate Chip DSP is matted on white cardstock. The flower stamp set and the sentiment are from PTI. The So Saffron donut border is made using EK Success border punch and the Rhinestones from Kaisercraft. The ribbon is from SU.Flowers are colored using Copics.
Here is a closeup.

Thanks for the sketch, ladies. Now to hop and see rest of the entries.
Have a great day!

My take on my sketch........

Morning everybody,

Nice Friday morning, Kids are having multicultural day at school today. Kids will dressed in their country of origin clothes. The school will be nice and colorful on a grey winter's day. Mine both are wearing Indian clothes. Click Click some photos. All set and ready to school..............
-------------------------------------------
One hour later, here I am typing again. My migraine is so much better. No nausea and irritability to noise and light. But there is still that little aura and a slight one sided headache. I can do a lot more things now than yesterday. Hope I get rid of my migraine completely by the end of today. Weekend is busy. I have a garage sale on Sunday.
Anyway, here is my card using my sketch. You can find the sketch here.

I have used SU's Taken with Teal and Real Red cardstocks, Organic Outlines stamp set. Taken with Teal, Basic Black and Real Red ink pads and kaisercraft's teal rhinestones. A CAS card.Hope you like it.

Yesterday evening with my migraine, I did make a different kind of gift card holder for my daughter Aditi's teacher's newborn baby girl. But forgot to take a photo. Silly me!  I should not forget to take photos in future. I did do something different and I want to recreate it but don't have the sample now. Will have to tease my brain once my migraine is gone.
Anyway, have a lovely day!

Two for one..

Today I have one card made for two challenges. I have used 2S4Y sketch #54 and drawn inspiration from papertrey Chick's inspiration challenge photo to make this card.

This is the sketch

And this the inspiration photo.

I don't have anything picnicy so I used the colors as inspiration. I used PTI's distressed stripes to make the red gingham background paper and New Leaf stamp set for the green leaves on yellow paper strip in the centre. All products are from PTI except Kaisercraft's rhinestone, SU "Mr & Mrs" stamp and tiny tag punch.

Thanks for stopping by! I have migraine. Hope it will go away soon.

Stitching on cards...

EDITED : I just saw I had reached 10,000 visitors on my blog. WOW! I am all excited. I should celebrate it. Will be back with something interesting tomorrow. Thank you for those of you who have visited and who visit my blog regularly.  Appreciate it very much.

Well, I have a sewing machine but I am just lazy to use it on cards. Thats because, the room in which the sewing machine is kept is very very cold at the moment. Silly excuse, I know. Thats why I tried to do hand stitching. Here is the card. Can you see the stitching?

I have used a lot of products on the card from my old stash. The pattern paper, Prima flowers, Basic Grey stickers, chipboard, brads and the ribbon. The cardstocks are from PTI. The bird stamp set is from SU. Its a hostess set.The stamp set on the purple cardstock and the sentiment is from PTI. I was having a conversation with my husband across the dining table and making this card. Added this and that and the end result is this.A Multilayer card!  I am entering this card for this week's Just Add Ink- Add Stitching challenge as well.
OK! I have guest for evening tea and got to make samosas. Have a great evening!
See you soon.
