Sweater inspiration!

This week's Tuesday Trigger inspiration at Moxie Fab World is a gorgeous sweater.
Here is the sweater for you.

Here is my take on the challenge.

A simple and clean card. I was inspired by the colors and found this SU DSP so similar in color to the sweater. Loved the button and added SU antique brad to make it look similar to the one on the sweater. Dry embossing to get the texture seen on the sweater and finally I tried to recreate the ruffled collar by punching border using Martha Stewart punch.I made that flower using Laurie's flower tutorial. Here is the link to her video. Gorgeous flower and so easy to make. Thanks Laurie!
I am thrilled with the card! Hope you like it too...:)

Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT 53}

Morning everybody, Gosh! its just 9.15 AM and the temperature is already 29 degree C. Going to be a hot and humid day, I reckon! Hate it! I cleaned the carport yesterday! 2 hours of backaching work and the overnight the wind blew all the leaves back in.... Grrrrr! Always happens! :(

Edited: Sorry the link says "I am the first" I had used it for another challenge and forgotton to delete it.  Ooops!
I am sharing a card I made for Curtain Call Color Challenge.
Here is the inspirational photo and the colors for the challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Halloween is not something we do in Australia!  So I chose a birthday card instead. Birthday cards are fast moving too! I love the embossed polka dots (my fav embossing folder) and the sparkly black diecut. The flourishes are from my scrapbooking stash. Sentiment, felt diecuts are from PTI, Vintage brads (my fav), cardstocks from SU, Rhinestones from Kaisercraft. Love the result. Earthy feel to the card don't you think? :)
Thanks for the challenge :) And thanks for stopping by too!

October Papertrey Blog Hop

Another month has come and nearly gone. Cannot believe its already 25th of October. But the exciting thing that happens every 25th is PTI's blog hop.

This month's theme is
There is always a lot of focus on Christmas in our industry this time of year, as that is what the majority
of the population celebrates.  However, this month's blog hop is dedicated to those that celebrate winter
holidays other than Christmas.  Create a project that celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or some other
winter holiday as we embrace everyone's beliefs in a celebration of diversity through paper crafting.

I decided to make a card for my PTI forum friend Noora as she will be celebrating Eid in November. Its exciting to make a card for Eid as I don't celebrate Eid.  This the first Eid card I have ever made. Did some research on the festival to be honest as I knew very little about it.  Without any further delay, here is the card.

Hope I picked the right colors, Noora! And  I kept the sentiment general on the outside. I like the way the card turned out. I hope you like it, Noora!  Ted, the green is Hunter's Green. I was reminded of you when I was making the card. I am loving the color now. Will definitely buy PTI's  Pinefeather Green cardstock in my next order.
Now, this month's theme is very interesting and I want to see what everbody else has made.
Happy Hopping!
Cheers!

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge.

Hi everybody,
A Passion for Papertrey blog has a CASE challenge this week. Case any DT's card. When I read it, I said to myself, "thats easy". But only when I started looking into the DT's projects, that I found myself in trouble. I wanted to CASE all of them. Selecting one card was sooo difficult. Finally I decided to do this card by Nicole Heady.

Love the simplicity of the card. The colors are gorgeous.
Here is my CASE card.

Edited: Won the top #3 in the CASE challenge

I changed the colors and added some texture by embossing. Well, just figured out that the tree is a bit crooked. But hey its handmade, slight imperfections are allowed right?  I love the layout of this card and how different color combinations could be used.
Thanks for giving an opportunity to CASE Papertrey DT's card. Wish you could put up this challenge once every two months. I have a list of their cards to CASE lol!
Have a great day!

Cheers!

Exciting news

Well, I am sorry I did not post my second post yesterday! I was so tired after taking kids for different lessons, that I slept on the couch watching TV.

The exciting news is that I am given the opportunity to design for Sasya Sketches blog. Here is the Sasya's sketch blog for you. I had applied a while ago and yesterday I got the good news. I love love sketches and
I am so excited to design for them. Can't wait to start.
This is their sketch #33

Here is my take on the sketch.

Well, there is something not right about this card! I don't know what it is yet...  I think its the ribbon..... I will figure it out today and replace the photo. Everything else is good. I love the Element of Style stamp from SU. They are so versatile. On the Bashful Blue cardstock the stamp looks vintage right?
Thanks for the sketch, Sasya! Looking forward to designing your sketches :)

Cheers!

JAI #40

Hey everybody, I made a card for Just Add Ink color challenge #40

Woohoo! I love how it turned out. Don't you think so? And most of all I love how the photo came out too. Lighting is perfect. I am getting there... mmmm!
Thanks for the color challenge. It makes me try the colors I normally don't think of using.

JAI #39

Hello everybody, Gosh! I had one great weekend. Drove 700kms to Perth on Saturday morning, met with our family friend who had come from Adelaide. We had so much fun and yummy dinner. They had two kids who are in the similar age range as mine and so kids also had heaps of fun too. Then on Sunday went shopping and drove back 700kms again back home. I am so excited about driving for 400kms at a stretch while coming back. Athough I ended having a sore bum and back, I felt great. I can't describe in words. I love driving, just my passengers get sick :)  Anyway, took a day to recover from the sore bum and back. oh! before I go over to my card for JAI! I should say, while shopping, I saw a beautiful blue heels in a shop at Perth. It was so beautiful with a large blue rhinestone that I sat just right opposite to the store with a cuppa and admired the heels while I slowly sipped the coffee. It was 15 minutes before my son discovered that I was admiring the heels instead of drinking my coffee lol! and then the rest of the family forced me to keep moving :( I so want that heels. I even dreamt of it last night :) I have to ring my friend at Perth so see how much it costs and ..... (you know!)  I have weakness for shoes :)
So I ended up making the blue card for JAI still remembering the blue shoes. This week's theme is Just Add..... Blue. This month is Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month. Isn't is awesome for JAI team to do awareness challenges? Love love the idea!
Here is my card for the challenge.

I love damask and so I decided to use it for the background. The label dies are from Spellbinders and flowers are from PTI. Impressions on the card both the polka dots and the woodgrain are from PTI and so is the sentiment from PTI's Flutterby stamp set.  Love the color combination. I picked it from  Moxie  Fab World's Tuesday Trigger inspirational photo. Here is the photo for you.

Hope I am not too late for Tuesday Trigger challenge! Thanks JAI for the awareness challenge. I love it. Especially being a mental health professional, I am all for awareness for mental health.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Ribbon Share Club

I want to put it out to anybody in Australia who is interested in sharing ribbons.

They are Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Early Espresso and Basic Black. I would prefer 4 person share, so you get 3.425 meters each and will cost $55.08 AUD + postage $2.00. I have one spot left in one share and if I have many interests, then I will organsie another share.

2. Second share is Stitched Poly ribbons. Available in 5 colors. The colors are the new in-colors. Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz. Shared by 4, each of you get 3.425 meters and will cost $21.20 plus $2.00 postage.

If you take part in both the shares, then as an incentive, I will send you a SU marker pen for free.
Please email me at scrapawayg3@gmail.com and we can discuss payment details. Please mention which share you want or if you want both.

Looking forward to hear from you :)

Pink and Green Christmas

I made a few more Christmas cards to add to my stockpile. This time I made green and pink Christmas cards. Here are the cards. Sorry for the bad photo. Took them inside the house as it was windy outside.

I have kept the layout of the card same as these ones here. I have just changed the colors, embossing folder, the focal element, stamps and sentiment.

I want to use the darker blue like Enchanted evening from PTI or Night of Navy from SU for the next bunch. I am stuck with colors will go with the darker blue? What color combo goes with Dark blue and yet be christmassy? Ideas please?
I then made some tags as well using PTI tag die.

So beautiful aren't they? I love them simple and clean. I am making a box of christmas cards, tags and christmas banner for my kids school. So these tags will go into that box. I am so enjoying making christmas goodies. I have lots more to make and I am not even half way through.
I am waiting for the school to restart for me to find time to sit and mass produce cards. I have the new IKEA catalogue delivered today. I can't wait to flip through the pages to see whats new in it. See ya later....
Have a good day!
Cheers!

Pretty in pink!

I made a very pretty pink card for two challenges. Pink is not my color. I think, its because of my daughter. Until two years ago she was a pink girl. Everything in her room will be pink from toys to linen and clothes. I was so full of seeing pink that I started to consciously avoid pink. Even not drink strawberry milkshake because its pink in color. So this week's challenge by Just Add Ink was a challenge for me. The challenge is Just Add Pink and Bling. This challenge is to promote breast cancer awareness. To make this card, I have used Makeesha's sketch from this week. So here is the sketch.

Here is my take on both the challenges :)
SOLD
I have used Wedding Sweet and En francis stamp sets from SU. I love Wedding Sweet stamp set especially the font of the sentiments are gorgeeous. Bling is added using rhinestones and shiny pink satin ribbon. I went monochromatic just to challenge myself. What do you think? Too much pink or not?.....
After a long time I got to play Makeesha's challenge.Nice sketch, Thanks!  Pink and Bling for promoting a good cause, thanks for that, JAI!
I had a great lunch at my friend's house. I am sleepy. Need to have a cat nap.
Have a great week end!
Cheers!

Card for housewarming party!

This is the first time I am making a card for housewarming party. I had to make it in a hurry. Not that I didn't know about the party in advance but I just simply forgot about it.Silly me! So I made this card just 15 minutes before going to the party.

I liked the colors although I picked them randomly. But was stuck with the stamp a little. I wanted to use this house stamp (thats the only house stamp set I have!) and get colors into it by using marker pens. But didn't have time to do it. So decided to go for black. It turned out good I think and I still like it. And the sentiment was perfect because this couple has been looking to buy for a very long time and finally bought this house.

Been busy with household chores. Spring No! Summer (too hot already!) is here and I had to pack all winter clothes away and get out all summer clothes. Wash all the linen.... blah!.. blah!... blah!.... Lots of work basically. A lot of ironing too. I hate ironing!!!  I can do every other work but ironing. Such a boring job. I try to postpone doing it but just can't avoid it.Can I? I wish I had someone to iron clothes :)  Kids clothes are organised but I have mine and my husband's to do :(  Whats exciting is school starts next week and I will get back to my routine. Kids are so looking to go back to school. I am itching to go back to the gym. And that 2 hours afternoon time is what I am looking forward to. Well, I am boring you all with too much blah! blahs! lol!
Will leave now. Have a great weekend! Until next time....
Cheers!
