My friend, Happy Birthday - Watercolour stamping technique

I played along Watercolour stamping technique from the Watercolour Online Card Class this evening.

I normally don't craft after dark because I find it hard to see true colours very well at night. Growing old huh! But today my hubby brought some medical students home for a class. So I had solid 2 hours of time free. While they were all having a class downstairs, I crafted upstairs. I tried different techniques using watercolour stamping with inks I have. But I was not happy with the result. I then wanted to try Kristina's technique. I search for a stamp set with cluster of flowers and leaves outline stamp. I found this beautiful stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Garden Grace.I used this set to make my card below.

I stamped the outline leaves and flowers using distress inks and then used watercolour brush to draw the colour inside and soften the outline a bit as well. I like definition on my stamped images. I am afraid of freehand drawing or spontaneity. So I like the idea of having the outline on my stamped images even if it watercoloured. lol!
I then brushed some blue distress ink on the background. The sentiment is from the new Altenew Stamp Set called Super Script. I am kind of addicted to the Wink of Stella shimmer pen. So I brushed some shimmer on the flowers and leaves. You can see the shimmer in this photo better.
