FTL #89

 I finally got to make a card using FTL#89. My daughter was sick with fever and wheezing all weekend and stayed home on Monday. Poor thing she looked so helpless with all the bodyache and eyes burning.But the good thing is that she was delirious for couple of days and all of a sudden on the third or fourth day she is fit as a fiddle!  I am happy she has got better and off to school. That means I can make cards.

I have used PTI's Hawaiian Shores, Melon Berry and Cream cardstock, PTI's Retro background, Teacher's Apple stamp set, PTI's Melon Berry, Pure Poppy and Ripe Avacado inkpads and SU's Basic Black and Whisper White inkpads and corner punch.

Just Add Ink #16

Hey everybody,

Its a nice Sunday sunny afternoon. Fantastic relaxing day for me. How is Suunday treating you all? I managed to make a card for Just Add Ink Color challenge #16. Here are the colors for you

And here is my take on the challenge.

Its a birthday card! Haha! I stamped the stamps from Kindered Spirit and Flight of a Butterfly using Versamark on White cardstock and sponged Ruby Red chalk on the image and So Saffron on the little flowers. I have then covered the panel with vellum and used pink rhinestone on top of the vellum for each flower and butterfly. This gives a nice frosted soft subtle look. I have used Taffeta Pretty In Pink ribbon for the bow and So saffron color button on the bow. I then mounted the panel on Soft Sude cardstock and used tag die for the sentiment. 

Its not my type of card but l so like this card for its soft subtle look. And so does the fly. Can you see him on the left side of the card? I did not see him when taking the photo but only when editing it. I think he is cute! lol!

One layer challenge - Punctuation.

Morning Everybody,

Quick post today.Susan of Simplicity blog has a challenge on her blog every Wednesday. I just discovered it. And I thought I will give it a go.This week's challenge is one layer card with the use of punctuation. You can read all about it here. Here is my take on the challenge.

It was a challenge to make a one layer card. I did not have any other punctuation stamp other than the brackets. I used a white gel pen and underlined the sentiment to highlight it and isn't "underline" a punctuation? Hope it is accepted as  a punctuation. hehe! I like the card actually. hope you do too!

Thanks for the challenge, Susan. I like to be taken out of my comfort zone.

Kristina Werner's Challenge part one.

I came across Kristina Werner's challenge on her blog and decided to participate in it. the challenge has two parts. The first part involves:

I’ll issue the color challenge using the winner’s photo. Then you all create something with those colors, similar to challenges in the past. I’ll do a round-up of my favorites as well. :)


I have a few photo hanging around in my picasa and decided to do an entry.
Here is my photo.

This photo was taken through a glass wall on a rainy day in Singapore. Not a very sharp photo but I like the green and black color combination in the photo. Always want to do one such combination.
Anyway, thank  for the part one challenge.

Are there multiple entries? If so I would like to do atleast two more!

Inspired by

At the papertrey forum, we have a thread called "Post here if you have updated your blog" and when everytime a member post their link, its a new inspiration or idea for me! I love just going through what everybody creates (provided my internet coorperates). Today, I did that in the morning and when I came across "Little Miss T"'s blog, I saw an awesome card she had created using PTI's Distressed Stripes stamp set. She had taken inspiration from the fashion world - Nautical Fashion and incorporated it on the card. I was so inspired by her card that I made a card using the nautical theme and Distressed Stripes. I made use of 2S4U sketch #51 to make the card. Here is the sketch for you.

And here is my card.

Don't the Pure Poppy buttons look Yummy! I love Pure Poppy ribbons and buttons. So glamorous and glowing... And, did you see the ruffled ribbon? I saw Ashley Newell's video and gave it a go. Its gorgeous to look at. Love it too. I am telling you, there is so many inspirations out there to see. learn,  try and make it your own. Very talented people out there willing to share. Thats great!

I have used PTI's Pure Poppy and White cardstock, Distressed Stripes and Masculine Motifs stamp set. Enchanted Evening satin ribbon, Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy inkpads, Pure Poppy buttons and twine all from PTI.
