It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Penny Black, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Bouquet!

A randomly selected participant in the Bouquet challenge will have their choice of a Penny Black gift certificate, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I LOVE the challenge graphics. Beautiful bouquet of flowers. Such vibrant colours. Perfect graphics to use with Penny Black floral stamps. And there are a variety of floral stamps to choose from Penny Black. I love their outline stamps because I can colour them :)

I heart you card1

I have used Penny Black's Fresh stamp set on my card.

I stamped the flowers with Memento Black Ink and copic coloured them. I picked the colours from the challenge graphics. LOVE the vibrant colours of pinks and purples. I then die cut a rectangle panel out of the coloured floral image to be used as focal point.

For the background, I did the smooshing technique on regular cardstock. I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress inks instead of watercolour on a piece of acetate sheet, then sprayed with water and smooshed it on the card front on the top left and bottom right. Love the subtle, layered colour wash effect this technique gives.

I heart you flat

Once the card front is dry, I mounted my flower panel using foam adhesives to give some dimension. Sentiment is from I Heart You stamp set also from Penny Black. I simply stamped it on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed the fish tail banner and adhered it on the card front. Finally, some gorgeous Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to bring everything together. I am pretty happy with how my card turned out. Hope you do too :)

As  part of Penny Black Designer Program, I have an extra giveaway for Curtain Call Challenge Fans. All you need to do is to LIKE Penny Black Facebook page and tell them we at Curtain Call Challenge sent you. A random winner will receive $25 gift certificate from Penny Black. How cool is that?

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

A blog Named Hero - Embossing Challenge!

Hey folks,

Sharing with you this month's first challenge at A Blog Named Hero.
It is all about embossing - dry or heat. it is up to you.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Hello friend card3

I have used Hero Arts Basic Grey stamp set called Good day to make my card.

BasicGrey Good Day picture

I simply stamped the flower images using Versafine Black ink then clear heat embossed them. Then sponged some Ripe Persimmon distress ink to bring the heat embossed images to the front. I also did the same process on a scrap piece of white cardstock, then cut out the flowers by hand. I then die cut a frame using MFT die and vellum cardstock.  I adhered the frame on the card front using foam adhesives and then the cut out flowers using foam as well. I made sure the foam adhering the vellum frame is behind the cut flowers so they don't show.

Sentiment is also from the same stamp set also heat embossed. I mixed some glitter to my clear embossing powder so there is some glitter on the embossed images.
Finally I have used Pretty Pink Posh's Cranberry 4mm and 6mm sequins.

Come and play along the challenge with me at A Blog Named Hero.

Tag You're It Challenge #19

It is time for another Tag You're it Challenge.
This time we have a gorgeous tag by Jeanne Jachna as inspiration.

I love the layout of the tag The patterned background, the die cuts and wider sentiment panel.

So here is my take on the tag.

Tag 1

I have used one of the tag from MFT Stitched Stax Tag die namics as my tag. I sponged Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distress ink then Vintage Photo on the edges. I have used Blips background stamp from Penny Black on my background. I cut a strip of vellum with fish tail end and adhered to the tag.

Tag flat

The die cut is also from Penny Black. It is called Lively. I sponged some Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserve distress ink on a white cardstock. Then die cut the Lively die from Penny Black. I then sponged some Chipped Sapphire distress ink on the edges. Once dry, I brushed some clear Wink of Stella shimmer. LOVE the shimmer on the leaves.

Tag closeup

I adhered this leaf die cut on the tag using foam adhesives.  Then stamped the sentiment from Pretty Petal stamp set also from Penny Black on a piece of cardstock sponged with Salty Ocean distress ink. I layered this piece with another piece of cardstock sponged with Dusty Concord distress ink before I adhered on the tag. Finally embellished with some gorgeous Orchid, Pansy Purple and Amethyst sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Runway Inspired Challenge #81

Hello everyone,

I am very late in posting my Runway Inspired Challenge #81. I was away for Easter Holidays and had really bad internet connection. So could not write and publish my post. I am back now and here is my take on Runway Inspired Challenge #81 - Jeremy Scott.

What inspired me most in the photo was the colourful squares! I tried to recreate the squares on my card using Prima Marketing stencil. Here is my take on the challenge.

Hello card

I sponged the distress inks in colours from the Jeremy Scott outfit on the card panel as my background. Then I picked the brightest colours from outfit to colour the flowers and leaves. The flower and leaves are Botanical Love stamp set from Create A Smile. I love this set for the beautiful flowers. I fuzzy cut the flower and leaves and adhered on the panel using foam adhesives.

Hello card closeup

For the sentiment, I have used Bossy Joscie's Hello Flair. I adhered this flair as the centre of the flower.

Check out Runway Inspired Challenge Blog for more design team inspiration and come and play along the challenge.
