Uniko Studio Blog Hop!

Hey everybody,

Welcome to Uniko Studio Blog Hop.

Photobucket

If you have come from super talented Erika's Blog, then you are on the right track.

Today we are revisiting Pure Florals: Gerbera Clear Stamp Set. Pure Florals are my favourite stamp set because of its gorgeous flowers in both outline and as solid images. They are so versatile and one can do so many techniques using them. These flowers are modern looking as well. Here is the stamp set for you.

Pure Florals: Gerbera

I made two projects using this stamp set. Here is the first card.

Here I have used two techniques on this card. First I have masked flowers and stamped using grey ink. And then I have coloured the flowers and leaves using watercolour pencil from Stampin Up! I started with lighted colour first and then shaded with a darker colour. I did not blend them using the blender because I wanted the pencil strokes seen to give a sketch like effect.
The sentiment is stamped directly over the coloured flowers using Archival Jet Black Ink. here are the close ups to see the shading and pencil strokes.

Here is my second project.

For my second project, I have gone for more subtle effect using watercolour technique and using vellum. Watercolour technique is the latest trend and I love the soft effect this technique gives. To make my background, I used wet on wet watercolour technique. I first brush wet my card front using water and let it soak a a minute. The water has to soak a little. Then I dabbed a little Juniper and Aqua  sponge dauber paints and  Spun Sugar distress ink on an acrylic block. I diluted them with water separately. Then picked these colours one by one and dropped them on the card front. I let the colour blend and dry by it self. This gave me a pretty subtle background. I then masked and stamped the flowers and leaves using Archival Jet Black Ink. Here is how the finished card front looks.

I could not come to terms with myself to stamp the sentiment on top of this gorgeous image. So I added a vellum layer and stamped the sentiment on the vellum.

I have folded the vellum to the back and adhered using glossy accent. The vellum finishes off the card. Hope you lilke them.

These are beautiful and so different. Your sketchy colouring is exquisite, and the colours work brilliantly together. I always forget about using vellum but what a fab way of using it, great cards.
