Playing Mix it Up Challenge From Ellen Hutson!

Hey everyone!

So glad you have joined me today at my blog. Hope you have having a great weekend especially my dear American friends who celebrated 4th of July American Day! I had an amazing weekend. Saturday was busy with cooking marathon and then hosting dinner party. Sunday has been quiet and relaxing with nothing much to do. So I caught up on my design team work and also couple of challenges. One of the challenges I played along is Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up Challenge. This month it is the fabulous Paper Smooches that they are mixing up with. Here is my card mixing Essentials By Ellen and Paper Smooches.

Celebrate card

To make my card, I started with couple of stamps from Botanicals stamp set by Paper Smooches. I stamped them on the white card panel using Hero Arts Blue to Navy ombre ink pad. I really really love these inkpads. They really add a lot of impact by just stamping using these ombre inkpads. And by stamping and layering the images, I wanted to create that impact. I also stamped the same images on a scrap piece of cardstock to die cut my sentiment. The sentiment is from Essentials By Ellen Zipper Panel die set. I also die cut a few more using scrap piece of white cardstock to stack and glue under the stamped die cut for added dimension. Before I glued this stacked die cut in place, I sponged some Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick distress inks towards the bottom of the card panel. This added colour and made the die cut sentiment pop out more. To bring the card together, I embellished with Orchid 6mm and 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I also added some droplets of glossy accents as dew drops on the foliage. Here are couple of closeups

Days have been very dark and rainy for past week, I take photos with natural light. With not enough natural light, my photos are not as bright and sharp as it should be. Sorry for the bad photos. Hope sun shines through for me take better photos :)

Thanks again for visiting my blog today!
