Winnie & Walter first birthday bash challenge

Hey everybody,

This is my third post for today. Here is my post on my favourite cards from 2014. And Curtain Call Challenge post.

Winnie and Walter is celebrating their first birthday. Woohoo! Happy Birthday and wishing many more birthdays to come Shay and Julie.

Now this calls for celebrations. So there are month long challenges brought to you by Shay, Julie and design team members. So my challenge for you will be to create a clean and simple card using freestyle collage style. Here is an example of my card using this style

Happy Haunting2

This is what I call freestyle collage style. Yet this card is clean and simple to make. So using this card as my inspiration, I have made a birthday card for Winnie & Walter's Birthday Bash celebration challenge.

happy birthday

I kept the layout the same and I have used watercolour. But by changing the theme, colours and elements you have a brand new card using the freestyle collage style. I have used watercolour paper as my base. Crushed Olive distress ink is added on the paper using wet to wet technique. once dry, I stamped the oval frame from The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom stamp set in black ink. On scrap pieces of watercolour paper, colour wash Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn distress ink using wet on wet technique. Once dry, die cut a tag out of pink colour washed paper, stamp and cut out three flowers and a bow on blue watercolour paper and leaves on the green paper.. The flower and leaves are from The Big, the Bold and extras stamp set. The bow from Leave it to Mom stamp set.  For the sentiment, I stamped the banner from the The big, the Bold and Extras stamp set on Crushed Olive colour washed paper, stamped the sentiment from The Big, the Bold and Happy stamp set, I again cut them out. Once you have all these elements ready, the final set is to assemble them.

I now clustered the flowers and leaves, adhered on the tag, stamped some leaf elements from The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom using black ink. Added the blue twine to the tag and adhered the tag on the card panel using foam adhesives. The sentiment banner was also adhered using glue in the middle and foam towards the ends. The bow on the bottom right as shown. Finally accented with gorgeous Aquamarine, Mossy Green, Lemon Drop and Pink Peonies sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Love how colourful it is. Perfect for birthday celebrations. To tie in all together, I adhered this completed panel on to black card base.
